Rutgers 2021
Re: Rutgers 2021
How good is burgdorf? I see that he is originally from jersey. Did he start at providence? Was he considered one of better goalies in Big east? Could he be an insurance policy if kirst is not granted an extra year?
Re: Rutgers 2021
Good,
right up there with Tate Boyce.

...and the Blue Jays will thump them again...
Re: Rutgers 2021
Rutgers beat hopkins the first 2 out of 3 games played in 2021, lol. The hopkins fans posting here were posting how terrible hopkins was and how terrible their new coach, milliman was, lol, for most of the season. i argued that there best recruit was their newcoach and i believe, doc barrister was the only poster here that welcomed my comments. What do i know? i got my education at Rutgers, lol.
Re: Rutgers 2021
That plus strengthening fogo position would remove any need for crossing fingers. BB working phones and high fives being exchanged in war room.
Others be forewarned . RU lax is here to stay and challenge any in coming years.
Re: Rutgers 2021
bananas, agree totally. Any knowledge of rutgers obtaining a goalie from the portal?
Re: Rutgers 2021
Burgdorf is good and expect him to start. Have two years of eligibility. Had one ugly early game vs Denver that he later reversed and also had twenty saves vs Georgetown. Be little need to pursue another, better to focus on further strengthening attack n fogo.
Surprised by talk on Kirst but not getting excited because aware of nothing, a twenty min stint in Lehigh opener in 2017 was his only p/t that took a year of eligibility, maybe something there with faulty filing but not aware so doubt.
Re: Rutgers 2021
would love to see them bring in Keegan Khan of Nova. Local kid, teammates with Kirst at both Delby and Nova - would immediately fill an attack spot and maybe catch some of that kirst magic!
Re: Rutgers 2021
Khan would be huge addition. Seeing the success of the Kirst brothers can only help our efforts to recruit.

Re: Rutgers 2021
Don’t know about the Prov defense but he was barely over 50% last year.
Now I love those cowboys, I love their gold
Love my uncle, God rest his soul
Taught me good, Lord, taught me all I know
Taught me so well, that I grabbed that gold
I left his dead ass there by the side of the road, yeah

Re: Rutgers 2021
Couple of things:
1) There are already plans for a lacrosse only stadium, with Yurcak being dedicated to soccer only. It will come in two phases with the first being what will be a practice field. The next phase will be the stadium build out around this. The turf will be laid in 22 sometime. People are pushing for prior to the season starting. The team will continue playing in the stadium until such time as the lacrosse only stadium is built. The team loves playing in the stadium so there is no anxiety there. This has long been part of the master planning. With Schiano back, things are getting quickly accelerated. A new football only facility, including an indoor practice facility, is also being designed. The Bubble will kept and used by the lacrosse team.
2) Kirst is still in play for another year. Unless you've been living under a rock, the new, softer NCAA is almost a rubber stamp to allow these late date redshirts. It's certainly not a done deal yet, but if it happens, don't be at all surprised.
If he comes back, with all that is coming back on defense, including new additions, throwing Kirst back in goal will have that side of the ball as one of the best in the country.
I would keep an eye out for possibly two more xfers. The staff is working incredibly hard.

Re: Rutgers 2021
If Rutgers gets khan from villanova and a fogo from portal, watch out lacrosse world. Then, RU will be a primary destination from in state high school players.
