Love the enthusiasm for Washington and Jefferson on the board. That being said, it seems the gap between Grove City and them is pretty big. Saint Vincent and Chatham possibly look like they could have ground gained on them.

It will be interesting to see who schools hire (current assistants vs current head coaches) for some of these positions.

Hauk was hired last year after the fall semester started, and there was no posting/search at the time.

There are a decent handful of programs that pay their coaches quite well outside of ACC/B1G. It obviously depends on the guy, some would surprise you. The range for assistants in D1 is about $25k-$150k. Head coaches $50k-$750k

Would love to hear of where a D1 assistant mens lacrosse coach makes 150k. Even with camps I havent heard of such a thing

Insider Roll must have some insider information, especially since 2 out of those 3 names mentioned are not assistant coaches currently and one of those was pre pandemic.

Possible Brown may be the exception and not the rule (associate HC and coach in waiting) but still seems like a lot.

750 is only 1 man. Gary Gait was making that as the women’s head coach. It’s possible title ix bumped him down but I’m sure he didn’t take much of a cut. Most “top tier” D1 guys at are between $200k-$300k, handful of guys above that.

I had heard $750k for gait recently as the wlax coach, here’s a 2015 article citing his $700k salary.

Obviously these contracts are complicated and different for everyone. We are talking total compensation after bonus, incentives, and stipends. Most ACC/B1G assistants have things like car stipends, etc that can reach over $10k/year. Schools can get creative to be competitive.

I would probably agree with insiderroll, though I think it’s a rare exception that approaches those upper limits in salary. For every assistant above $100k, there’s probably ten below.

20k-120k. I think some coaches have "dual" duties to go along with coaching (administration or teaching).

we're going on more than a decade now of that 700+ being cited. that was his year 1 total comp to bring him in. here is a listing of the top 20 @ su from federal 990 form for that same exact year, 2015:
