Re: LIBERTY LEAGUE 2021
D3 Trophy back in Upstate for the 19th time since its inception in 1980.
RIT (1) 2021
Cortland (2) 2006,2009
Nazareth (3) 1992,1996,1997
Hobart (13) 1980,81,82,83,84,85,86,87,88,89,90,91,93
Not bad- almost half of the time the champ was from Upstate. Now we just gotta get Bart to come back to D3 and we’ll own it.

Not sure if this was put on here already or not, but it seems that Bard has cancelled their program. Not really a loss to the league but always sad to see a program get shutdown.

Saw the Mens Lacrosse link on sports was taken down, but Coach Praetorius is still listed on the staff directory.
Sad indeed, if true

Yup appears to be true. And apparently has been the case for a few months looking at the article date.

Maybe it's me sounding bitter another program bites the dust, but the "Interim " AD keeps the Men's Squash team around (may have a special place in his heart considering his background) with 1 winning season since 2008InsiderRoll wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 10:10 amhttps://bardathletics.com/news/2021/3/9 ... ogram.aspxSouthernLaxGenius wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 9:57 amSaw the Mens Lacrosse link on sports was taken down, but Coach Praetorius is still listed on the staff directory.InsiderRoll wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 8:29 am Not sure if this was put on here already or not, but it seems that Bard has cancelled their program. Must be a numbers thing and costing the dept too much $$$
Re: LIBERTY LEAGUE 2021
Bard’s problem was that they always had small rosters that would become depleted as the season wore on. There was one instance where they only had three or four subs in a game.SouthernLaxGenius wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 10:44 amMaybe it's me sounding bitter another program bites the dust, but the "Interim " AD keeps the Men's Squash team around (may have a special place in his heart considering his background) with 1 winning season since 2008InsiderRoll wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 10:10 amhttps://bardathletics.com/news/2021/3/9 ... ogram.aspxSouthernLaxGenius wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 9:57 amSaw the Mens Lacrosse link on sports was taken down, but Coach Praetorius is still listed on the staff directory.InsiderRoll wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 8:29 am Not sure if this was put on here already or not, but it seems that Bard has cancelled their program. I'm a Maryland guy who has made countless trips to watch Upstate NY HS lax games. I'm also a huge Salisbury fan and while you make a good point about the number of trophies residing in upstate, I think it's also fair to mention that Jim Berkman hails from Upstate and many of Salisbury's titles were earned on the backs of studs from upstate (Cirillo, Cannone, Bradman, Granelli, Garbarino come to mind from the past 10 years). So, even if the trophies don't always reside upstate, it's clear your fingerprints are on nearly every trophy nearly every year across all divisions regardless of where that trophy physically resides in any particular year. Keep up the great work of pumping out outstanding lacrosse players and better yet, many outstanding young men.TopShelf585 wrote: ↑Sun May 30, 2021 8:52 pm D3 Trophy back in Upstate for the 19th time since its inception in 1980.

Re: LIBERTY LEAGUE 2021
Liberty is the most represented conference in the USA Lacrosse pre-season Top 20 (or 25 including honorable mentions) for 2022:
Liberty - 4 Teams with 16 Avg Rank
Nescac - 3 Teams with 12 Avg Rank
Coast to Coast - 2 Teams with 3 Avg Rank
MAC Commonwealth - 2 Teams with 11 Avg Rank
ODAC - 2 Teams with 13 Avg Rank
Centennial - 2 Teams with 15 Avg Rank
NCAC - 2 Teams with 19 Avg Rank
SCAC - 1 Team with 7 Rank
Empire 8 - 1 Team with 9 Rank
Atlantic East - 1 Team with 10 Rank
MAC Freedom - 1 Team with 11 Rank
SUNYAC - 1 Team with 12 Rank
CCIW - 1 Team with 14 Rank
SAA - 1 Team with 16 Rank
OAC - 1 Team with 18 Rank
Most top teams schedule a really tough out of conference schedule also, but Liberty and Nescac seem to have the toughest conferences.

Surprised not to see Union in the preseason top 20. They return tons of 5th year talent and good youngsters. What do you guys think?
Re: LIBERTY LEAGUE 2021
My personal opinion is that they’ve been the second best team in the Liberty league the past few seasons (predating Covid/2019). I expect that to be the case again this year, or possibly SLU.
Re: LIBERTY LEAGUE 2021
They should certainly be in the conversation. Certainly above some of the others mentioned.RetiredLLLaxer wrote: ↑Wed Jan 05, 2022 9:52 pm Surprised not to see Union in the preseason top 20. They return tons of 5th year talent and good youngsters. What do you guys think?

Agreed. 5-3 last season with 2 of those being close losses to RIT.RetiredLLLaxer wrote: ↑Wed Jan 05, 2022 9:52 pm Surprised not to see Union in the preseason top 20. They return tons of 5th year talent and good youngsters. What do you guys think?
