Yardbirds
This band cranked out some great songs in the 60's. Here's a couple tunes I've been enjoying especially lately:
This one is from March of 1965 with Jeff Beck on lead guitar. While the Beatles were singing fluffy songs like Eight Days a Week, the Yardbirds were perfecting a harder edge. Lyrics and music written by lead singer Relf.

Then this one from mid 1966 has Jeff Beck singing and playing guitar. Exquisite licks and leads in this one. Lyrics and music written by Beck.

One more from that mid '66 period. Great harp and guitar playing during the bridge. Gets the ol' adrenaline kicking:

No doubt these guys were a gifted guitar band.

Remastered
Remastering isn't a good thing. I know of one instance where it detracts from the original. The Beatles Paperback Writer had a sublime sigh heard by Lennon at about :57 seconds which you could really only hear with headphones, and then toward the end there is heard a kind of false start with someone saying the word "paper" in a small falsetto voice. That's wiped clean by "remastering" as well.
Bad Boy
It's interesting to hear the original:

It's obvious why this song appealed to Lennon. Beatles do a great cover.

Very interesting background for this song here:

Been thinking about 80s college rock lately. Here’s a couple (CVA is a personal favorite):
Camper Van Beethoven:

The day lassie went to the moon

Pictures of matchstick men

And a little more obscure but the Dead Milkmen:
Punk Rock Girl

Smoking Banana Peels

Now I love those cowboys, I love their gold
Love my uncle, God rest his soul
Taught me good, Lord, taught me all I know
Taught me so well, that I grabbed that gold
I left his dead ass there by the side of the road, yeah
