No. 5 Georgetown vs. Syracuse, 7:30 p.m. Saturday — I have a similar feeling about this game as Patrick does about Lehigh-Rutgers. With not much to go on outside of conference, I think the Big East was generally lumped in with the CAA and America East in terms of talent level — not put on a similar plane as the ACC, Big Ten and Patriot League this year.

Re: Georgetown-Syracuse
You Hop folks are so used to talking about firing your coach you have to bring it to a Cuse-Gtown game thread?

IL knows exactly two players from the CAA,DU-fan wrote: ↑Tue May 11, 2021 10:04 pmI agree. and not very well at that,
chances that IL watched zero CAA games and relied
on highlight only,
very high.
As a relative marker to other non B1G non ACC
leagues.

Chris Jastrzembski's pre-game analysis
Syracuse v #5 Georgetown (Saturday, 7:30 PM)
#5 Georgetown: Kevin Warne has been building something special in the nation's capital, and this season could showcase their years-long progress. The defense is stellar, but let's focus on the offense, a unit that loves to share the ball. 144 of their 189 goals were assisted, which is about 76.2%. Their 10.29 assists per game are tops in the country, and freshman TJ Haley leads the country with 47 dishes (3.62 assists per game). One of Syracuse's glaring weaknesses is their off-ball defense. If Haley continues to use his vision to find open guys at attack or up top at the midfield, it's going to be a long night for Orange fans.
Syracuse: A year that began with Championship Weekend expectations has been subdued with four blowout losses and being the last team in the NCAA Tournament. Per Lacrosse Reference, their offense is 7th at 34% with Stephen Rehfuss, Owen Hiltz, Tucker Dordevic, and recently Owen Seebold leading the way. But it's the defense that been the weakest unit all year, sometimes even creating offense for the opposing team. The loss of Nick DiPietro doesn't help that either. They're going to need to tighten up off-ball as well as when the ball is at X. Drake Porter is also very capable of stealing games like he did against Vermont.

Re: Georgetown-Syracuse
Awful quiet on this thread since Wednesday. Anecdotally tells me how intensely contested this game will be.
Re: Georgetown-Syracuse
Going with Syracuse. I think they pull it together and take this one. Good luck to both!

Can the D handle Carraway, Haley and Bundy Jr plus the rest?
Now I love those cowboys, I love their gold
Love my uncle, God rest his soul
Taught me good, Lord, taught me all I know
Taught me so well, that I grabbed that gold
I left his dead ass there by the side of the road, yeah

Trying and failing to find a clip of one of the best ever This is Sportscenter, with the Orangeman going to the bathroom at a urinal and blocking everyone else from getting in and someone yelling at him why doesn’t he just go outside in the bushes. Classic, like the Charlie Steiner Follow me to Freedom era promosFarfromgeneva wrote: ↑Sat May 15, 2021 1:08 pmLike it, too bad you couldn’t find one of a dog crushing an orange.
