Who is defending him. I heard people saying, Wait until all the information comes in. But that's a far cry from defending him.
My understanding is that they did walk away from him, wouldn't practice if he was on the same field as them, etc.TopShelf585 wrote: ↑Fri May 07, 2021 3:43 pm His teammates wouldn't have walked away from him if this was all it was.

That’s right- his teammates knew the full story and what went down and that’s why they walked away from him.Matnum PI wrote: ↑Fri May 07, 2021 3:54 pmWho is defending him. I heard people saying, Wait until all the information comes in. But that's a far cry from defending him.

So you were a young, drunk, entitled fool in college? Bravo.Matnum PI wrote: ↑Fri May 07, 2021 1:05 pm I know a guy (who looks a lot like I do) who, in college, may have drank too much and may have been showing off for a girl who may have purposely taken a bag of potato chips off a shelf in a grocery store and stepped on it. And, he was charged with... fourth-degree criminal mischief. It was a nothing situation. Had to get a lawyer who essentially had the charge erased from the kids record as long as he didn't get in any more trouble for the next 6 months? 9 months? I can't remember. Bottom-line, i think this is a very small charge.
Let me assure you if my daughter was the one being harassed or on the receiving end of this idiot’s drywall “stress-test” he’d have much more serious things to deal with than a misdemeanor charge; he would answer to me.
Always amazed at how parents defer to the pusillanimous “justice” system. Something is amiss. As citizens we enter into the social contract with the expectation our rights will be preserved. I have little patience for broken contracts.

Matnum PI wrote: ↑Fri May 07, 2021 3:14 pmfor sure, some will find jokes of this nature distasteful based on the jokes being "too soon" as well as the crime being physical abuse which is never funny (though, admittedly, Bill Burr might have some abuse jokes that are kind of funny) and... laxpert, I highly suggest you don't make any jokes about Scanlan being given his inmate number 657485 and complaining because he wanted 22. Don't...

And he'd be walking the streets (possibly with some bruises) while you'd be sitting in a jail cell for more than a misdemeanor crime. In the short-term, assaulting this young man may feel right and true and emotionally cathartic but... It's a crime. Looks great on a big screen, feels great in our imagination, not so great in real life.PizzaSnake wrote: ↑Fri May 07, 2021 5:29 pmLet me assure you if my daughter was the one being harassed or on the receiving end of this idiot’s drywall “stress-test” he’d have much more serious things to deal with than a misdemeanor charge; he would answer to me.

A few bruises? You suffer from a lack of imagination and a severe circumscription of the possible. The consequence would be commensurate with the offense and of a permanent nature.Matnum PI wrote: ↑Fri May 07, 2021 5:47 pmAnd he'd be walking the streets (possibly with some bruises) while you'd be sitting in a jail cell for more than a misdemeanor crime. Don’t mistake me for a practitioner of idiot compassion because I display intolerance for some of the fascist tools on this board.
Re: Syracuse 2021
Details are coming in now. He seriously assaulted and harmed this woman. The criminal mischief seems to me to be a charge to get him booked now while they continue the investigation which will likely bring forth much more serious charges
Re: Syracuse 2021
and the more damage you do to the young man, the longer and more sever will be your sentence. This isn't about compassion, idiotic or otherwise. This is about an understanding and a respect for the law.PizzaSnake wrote: ↑Fri May 07, 2021 6:11 pm A few bruises? You suffer from a lack of imagination and a severe circumscription of the possible. if she presses charges. which i believe she does not want to do. at least initially. if she doesn't want to move forward, the charges involving her are irrelevant.

Re: Syracuse 2021
Meanwhile, Syracuse again does its' best to show it has some serious defensive problems on the actual field as BobbyMo puts up 14 against them this afternoon. Cuse won't get out of the second round with that kind of effort against most of the teams that get into the big dance. Orange may end up with a 7 or 8 seed but even if they get no seed they will be pitted against the likes of Rutgers, Drexel, either PL finalist or either Big East finalist, all worthy opponents.

#BREAKING: According to court documents, Chase Scanlan broke the victims phone, injured her ribs to the point where she went to the doctors (bone contusion) and then paid $500 for her to get a new phone
Victim: “Chase has a serious anger management and drinking problem.”
Victim after Scanlan allegedly put her in a leg lock:
“As he was doing this, he began squeezing my upper body with his arms and I started screaming because he was hurting me he continued squeezing I thought he was going to kill me.”

Ryan Smith doing his best John Grant Jr. impression. Too bad his collegiate career is over. Great player!

Re: Syracuse 2021
If RoMo could have least shown at the faceoff dot this would have been a fantastic game. They have some serious scoring potential (when they have the ball).

you're trying to paint a picture of you seeing reality while this board is in denial while the reality is that we all see this reality.

You know, not saying there’s any relationship but is it odd that Albany bounces Nanticoke this year and his happened w Scanlon?
Obviously completely random and different schools but just a unique circumstance where I have to wonder if maybe Covid or some other consideration might be having some type of unique impact on the NA tribal residents. Not to dilute or dismiss the seriousness of this just an observation.

Re: Syracuse 2021
They have an offense that’s almost as old as Rutgers. Perkins left for a 5th at Utah and came back. Smith is a beast. There’s two others I’m drawing blanks on but still maintain they probably would’ve won the NEC this year and had they had a little less draining schedule they’re probably a 15-20 team maybe even lower double digits. Don’t think they played a single home game this year.

The dude choked this woman to the point that she said she thought she was going to die. What on earth could possibly be the correlation here? I don’t know but wasn’t Nanticoke bounced from team over se character consideration? Don’t recall details. Already stated doesn’t make it any better just wondering if there’s anything more than random correlation.
