If I recall correctly, Joe Yevoli transferred to Syracuse from Virginia after three seasons and was forced to sit out a season because Dom didn't give him a release. Conversely, Nicky Gallaso got a release from UNC and transfered to Syracuse, and didn't have to sit a year (although I think he might have gotten injured and missed his first season at Cuse anyway). My memory is fuzzy.
Yevoli's first year at UVA was 2002. I think he was injured in 2005, but was still on the roster. So, 2006 would've been as a fifth year senior at SU.
I don't remember him sitting a year at Virginia being injured. But like I said, my memory is fuzzy on that. The one thing I remember was how dynamic that UVA attack was with Conor Gill playing at X along with two freshman in John Christmas and Joe Yevoli. Christmas and Yevoli scored a boatload of goals on Gill's assists. Unbelievable talent.
https://cuse.com/sports/mens-lacrosse/roster/2005
Syracuse's 2005 roster doesn't include Yevoli.

https://storage.googleapis.com/virginia ... ners-1.pdf
UVA's letterwinners file doesn't include 2005 for Yevoli. I'm not sure if that means he wasn't on the roster or he didn't play.
http://dailyorange.com/2006/02/death-ca ... -together/
short story injured in 04 and played thru it, still lingering and redshirted in 05. asked for release and starsia granted to schools not on schedule.

appealed to casteen (president) and full release was granted. don't know whether his school at syracuse was grad or undergrad and it doesn't say whether he got uva degree.
I can't believe this was a free season for every NCAA basketball player this year.....even the teams completing a season. Nobody burned a year of eligibility. It is hard to believe.

Given all the 5th & 6th years due to NCAA response to Covid, when should the grad school transfer portal start to heat up?

I'd suspect that some of the conversations may already be happening or have occurred as deadlines can be tight for grad programs in some cases. Admissions applications are likely in process or complete, dependent on the school. Agree that certainly more announcements will come after the season.

+1 lots of movement TBD as so many have extra years available. Most 2021s & 2022s don't realize how crowded rosters are going to be from 5th ,6th & 7th year kids from 2016 - 2019 grad years. Many lost PT to transfers, feel like missed their opportunity... Expecting lots of 60+ rosters in 2022/2023.

This list is very incomplete, there have been over 100 players added since Jan 1st and 7 added today. I expect dozens of more over the next few weeks as seasons end for teams. I won't be surprised to see days where 20 plus a day are added. Many are players with little playing time and seniors looking to catch on somewhere to start graduate school. Currently, there are a few impact players but not many I would say 20 of the 100 had significant playing time. If you play significant minutes at a good school you probably want to stay.

Can you share the players who aren't listed so we can add?

I agree—we're going to see a lot more over the next few weeks as guys figure out their grad school vs. job plans.

Not surprised. I only update when I see it comes from known sources like Xanders/IL or Chris Jastrzembski

Any way we can get the most recent updates to the list in bold or italics? Just to make it easier to see what's been added since the last time the list was posted.

EDIT: Appreciate it

Weird.
Why would Luke Blanc transfer ?
He could start next year, or at least the opening is there.

It could be for 2022. Madronic is in early for instance. Where are all of the other Ivy League players? I would have thought the portal would be chock full of Ivy League players by now as those schools don’t like sports and may drop lacrosse.
