The games are important for BE tourney ranking and could really help out Nova if they beat Denver this week and/if when the make up the postponed game @ Nova.
I think the weekend of May 1 is supposed to be reserved for BE make up games, but Nova already has a game with Lehigh so I assume Denver and Villanova will not have a make up.

Anyone hear if fans will be allowed at the Big East tournament? I see Providence is letting students at the game. Hopefully, they open a little more in a month. First BE game is only 1 month away.
I would be surprised if they didn’t play Denver vs Villanova that week instead of Lehigh vs Villanova. I’m p sure those games were scheduled in the event there weren’t any makeup games required for the schools and they had a free week to play a game. If Villanova needs that week to make up a game, they’ll do it.
Puck Swami heard that the make game might be on 4/28.
Denver vs. Nova officially re-scheduled for 4/28

I assume it is Goals Against for Big East games.

Georgetown has 69 GA with one game left against Providence.
Denver has 70 GA with two games left against St. Johns and Villanova.

Assuming Georgetown and Denver win out in the Big East, Georgetown will most likely be the #1 seed.

Good to see the game between Nova and Lehigh is still on. I would think an important game for Nova as a win against Lehigh and beating Denver on 4/28, could lead to an at large bid and not have to win the BE tourney.

My assumption was wrong on the tie breaker. Per a Coach Tierney interview, it is Head to Head goal differential.

So if Denver and Georgetown win out in Big East play, the both end up 9-1, and Denver wins the Big East regular season with a 5 goal lead in Head to Head goal differential (13-7 and 10-11).

Georgetown 8-1
Denver 7-1
Villanova 5-3
Providence 3-6
Marquette 2-6
St. John's 0-8

Conf games:
4/24 St. John's @ Denver
4/24 Marquette @ Villanova
4/24 Providence @ Georgetown
4/28 Denver @ Villanova
5/1 Marquette @ St. John's

Out of Conference:
5/1 Lehigh University @ Villanova
5/1 Georgetown @ Loyola
  • Only top 4 teams make the tournament.
  • If Denver and Georgetown win out, Denver is #1, Georgetown is #2 based on 5 H-H goal differential.
  • Villanova #3 is secure. Wins against Denver and Lehigh will get them in the NCAA discussion and probably in.
  • Marquette needs to win the last 2 games to get in the BE Tournament. They would be 4-6 and Providence needs to lose to Georgetown 3-7.
  • Assuming Marquette ends 3-7 (W SJU, L Nova) and Providence ends 3-7 (L GU), Providence is #4 seed with 3 H-H goal differential.

I feel like Nova is a little bit of a sleeper. No idea why they don’t get talked about in comparison to all these CAA teams. And even a Rutgers. Wouldn’t be surprised to see them beat Lehigh.

They definitely might be. Right now, in the latest version of "Bracketology", they are viewed as one of the first teams out, while Denver is viewed as one of the last teams in. That definitely could flip with a Wildcats' victory tomorrow.

Anyone know for certain that Villanova will stream the Denver game today?

I see it promoted on the schedule, twitter, etc. But, it is not set up on the website yet.
