To be fair to Wesleyan...Tufts is going to make a lot of people look bad this year. Absurd talent + near total continuity from 2020. My mildly warm take is that the toughest opponent they will face before championship weekend is themselves in practice.
Edit: okay, “a few people” because of the condensed season

Apparently the lacrosse gods were tuned into our little debate a few weeks ago about DI vs DIII matchups. Hopefully there’s a video feed.

And apparently nothing good came come of this for Dartmouth.
Re: NESCAC 2020
Dartmouth-Tufts and Penn-Cabrini in the same weekend, 2021 might be even weirder than 2020.

I love it. Keep the crossover games coming.
That said, isn’t this “out of division” game also an “out of conference” game?
Crazy idea here, but maybe, just maybe, we could also play “out of conference” games that are within division III.

I'm not too familiar with Dartmouth but their online roster is pretty full and most of the guys who I have heard of are listed for this spring. Perhaps fewer Dartmouth players took this spring off compared to other Ivies since the Big Green are less of a perennial tournament contender. A fairly full strength match up between these two should be a fun one.

Anybody have any color on Dartmouth? Anyone to make note of ahead of Sunday’s tilt? Looking forward to a little Sunday funday.Laxxal22 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 20, 2021 9:27 pm I'm not too familiar with Dartmouth but their online roster is pretty full and most of the guys who I have heard of are listed for this spring. Re: NESCAC 2020
The only outcome is one that will be bad for Dartmouth, they have been a weak team in D1 for years .. in 50 years they’ve only had 2 seasons of double digit wins. Great school and I give a lot of credit to the players who work just as hard as the top programs in the country and carry a heavy academic workload. That said this matchup only brings out the crazies who will extrapolate the Tufts win with how competitive D3 teams are and how well they’d compete in D1. They wouldn’t especially with all these 5th years playing and 60 plus man rosters. I have no idea why Dartmouth would do this. In other crossover action I’d assume U Penn will handle Cabrini.JumboFan4 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 20, 2021 9:51 pmAnybody have any color on Dartmouth? Anyone to make note of ahead of Sunday’s tilt? Re: NESCAC 2020
I think it'll be a lot closer. Why embarrass a coach/team which in essence is doing you a favor? May need another someday.23-11 Tufts.
Why isn't Tufts playing Brown? Much closer geographically and there's the Daly connection.
Re: NESCAC 2020
I think everyone is underestimating Dartmouth. I think Tufts wins, but it'll be a lot closer than people think. They have a game Saturday, and it'd be their fourth road trip in an 8 day period. Dartmouth probably has smart kids who rejected better D1 teams for an Ivy league degree. Who knows how many kids they have, but it'll still be a good game

Re: NESCAC 2020
Good question about Brown. It seems that compared to some of the other IVYs they had most of the team on campus (and of course the Daly connection). I think if these teams played full strength I would take Tufts in a good game. Really hard to predict how Dartmouth will look with so many freshman. They do have at least a few upper classmen on hand but I haven't seen a good listing of who they are. With the right guys, this could be a good game. If not, agree Tufts should win handily.
