Acquittals are generally the quickest decisions juries make. Not happening here.

Guilty verdicts actually take much longer. Especially when you have (as here) multiple charges that have to be sifted through.

A hung jury only comes after the (almost) guilty verdict would have been reached.

So there's not probably not going to be any tea leaves for reading for many more days of deliberations.

I saw the video and the still image “grabs” and read the coverage.

Doesn't appear cut-and-dried either way. On one hand the shooter’s licensing and therefore training is questionable, and on the other hand the “victim” seems like he was going to come to a bad end acting the way he was.

Cases like these is why we have trials.

Agreed, for all we know the shooter's a bad guy...Petey says so, and it actually may be the case...but the video certainly shows the guy shot to be the violent antagonist...and also clearly not exactly a sweetheart...so, not at exactly slam dunk!

Well, let's just say that the case was so clear that "a 3rd grader could have argued this case" and SHOULD win...but let's imagine for a moment that there was no video and it was just the 8 witnesses to the crime versus the testimony of the 4 cops...

But heck, let's at least acknowledge that we haven't seen any of these cases go down this way before, even with video...it's a potential pivot point to have the police brass come out so strongly against the former cop.

And I think it's actually fair to say that the prosecution handled the case pretty much flawlessly. The "this isn't an anti-police case, it's a pro-police case" posture was also masterful...but only possible because the police brass were with them.

Here's a fuller picture of the Keltner/Dolloff shooting in Denver.

The patriot/victim guy clearly provoked the encounter -- "I'm going to eff you up" he says to the news camera man as he starts the second fight. He also hit the security guard in the face and maced him.

Unfortunately the patriot/victim guy didn't know that the guy he was attacking had a gun. Oops.

Anyone's guess what a trial outcome might be.

Well, let's just say that the case was so clear that "a 3rd grader could have argued this case" and SHOULD win...but let's imagine for a moment that there was no video and it was just the 8 witnesses to the crime versus the testimony of the 4 cops...

The upcoming trial of the other officers will be much more interesting and telling.

Assume Chauvin is just a very bad rogue apple who did something so egregious and unjustified that (so long as it is caught on tape) it is a no-brainer conviction.

Much more interesting question as to why the other officers didn't see the obvious and do something about it. What were they thinking?
