The root cause/problem is that the cops are trained to escalate -- creating situations (unnecessarily) where weapons are drawn and life/death decisions have to be made. Once weapons are drawn, then the shirt gets real very fast.
It is like car chases.
Until recently, cops were trained to chase down fleeing suspects. Then people figured out that the car chases themselves were way too dangerous and were the problem that needed to be solved. Now, cops are banned from engaging in car chases in all but the most extreme circumstances (like a child kidnapping). Problem solved. There's a hundred easier/safer ways to deal with the suspect than a car chase -- and cops now use those easier/safer means.
The cops in Brooklyn and Windsor easily could have eased off and made everyone (including themselves) safer. But they are trained to always escalate and dominate any confrontation. Not trained to ask "do I need to be in this confrontation right now?" Add in the effects of racism and adrenaline, and we all see how these completely avoidable situations are not avoided.
Hey Brooklyn cops -- you got three officers on the scene vs. one suspect. How about someone bothers to close the forking car door after the kid gets out? Instead of leaving it open so the kid can hop back in? Stupid, sloppy and dumb.
Minnesota have exclusive neighborhoods where the police live? I bet if that were to happen a whole lot neighborhood residents that own guns would take umbrage to people trying to burn their houses down.
What JHU is admitting is he doesn’t object to the looting at all.

The ‘misdemeanor charge’. Yes, possessing a Ruger 45mm without a license and proof of ownership (I thought libs demanded license and registration for handguns!) is a nothingburger. He was probably out catching pheasant for his family. Also, who cares about resisting arrest!!
Libs have an unusual gun control policy. They hate taxpayers defending themselves against criminals who possess stolen guns, but they’re okay with the criminals possessing stolen guns.

A friend was arrested and spent the weekend in jail years ago. He was a phD student in math. Old warrant from when he failed to appear in court for taking someone’s bike and riding home with it. 15-16 year old warrant. The cops thought they had a terrorist. He was stopped for failing to come to a complete stop before making a right on red. Arrested late Friday and no judge until Monday. He had never seem so many police cars. Iranian kid that came over in the 1970’s. Big shot with Raytheon now. Smart guy.Kismet wrote: ↑Tue Apr 13, 2021 4:56 pm Right. He shouldn't be dead. Ask your family of police officers if there is such a think as a 'routine stop' or if they approach stops differently, my guess is no. I find it odd that you argue it is the polices' fault that an idiot in a traffic stop can not follow simple instructions like, put your hands up, please step out of the vehicle, sit down, what is your name, do not run.ggait wrote: ↑Tue Apr 13, 2021 1:28 pmBecause she was within 21 feet of a suspect. I agree with you, completely, in premise that cops escalate the situation....when ignorance fails to listen. I also agree cops could treat the situation differently....especially if the people listened and then filed a complaint, which shines light on the dumbass over bearing cops that need to go.
Apply your theory in the courtroom......ignore the judge over and over, see if you leave by the rear door of the side door and who escorts you there. But I am sure you'll blame the judge....if his not the same color as you.
A fraudulent intent, however carefully concealed at the outset, will generally, in the end, betray itself.

I’m betting no one here knows a full blown riot occurred in Portland last night.

Actually, I bet most people here have no idea that Oregon Antifa leftists have rioted every night for more than a year, with no real punishment.
Meanwhile, Mayor Wheeler was really bummed out () that Daunte Wright died. I mean, it shook Ted as much as it shakes the leftist performance artists here at Fanlax. In other words, not at all.

Even funnier is how right wing delusionals support those organized groups who carry high powered rifles to defend themselves against imaginary threats from the federal government while they refuse to support those who arm themselves to protect against police crimes and tyranny.

I wouldn’t base your opinion on GG’s statement regarding 21 ft. as his contention is an inaccurate generalization. The left chooses the oddest heroes (by odd I mean predictably bad).
Daunte was fleeing lawful arrest because he had been charged with armed robbery, plus violating two conditions of his bail: being caught with an unlicensed gun and failing to report in to his probey officer. Either one should’ve resulted in being remanded, but of course the Minnesota libs have wrecked criminal justice in that once great state so he remained free to do more damage to society.
Ask the boys from Wayzata why they are all moving to Florida.
The officer made a tragic mistake, but in zero way ( and I mean ZERO) did it have anything to do with racism, police over-reaction, or any other societal ill the Left dreams up with no fact but still bellyaches about every second of their miserable lives.
Oh also, Democrats are trying to burn down the female officers home in a nice suburb. You must be proud, Dems!!

You missed my point.Ask your family of police officers if there is such a think as a 'routine stop' or if they approach stops differently, my guess is no. I find it odd that you argue it is the polices' fault that an idiot in a traffic stop can not follow simple instructions like, put your hands up, please step out of the vehicle, sit down, what is your name, do not run.
It is the job of the cops to deal with people who are drunk, stupid, high, sketchy and criminal. All the time. If you only want to deal with good behavers, get a different job. So your tactics shouldn't blow up or go off the rails just because one of your suspects acts sub-optimally. That's DUMB.
But the training, more or less, is that you have to completely take control and assert dominance 100%. Problem is that always always escalating is more dangerous than some of the alternatives.
P.S. One of my cop family members was nearly killed during a traffic stop. Guy pulled a gun from inside the car. Luckily my family member shot first. Justified fatal shooting. But easily could instead have been one of those "thought it was a gun; turned out to be a cellphone" incidents. He'd tell you that the much better approach (for cop and perp) would be to deal with the suspect at a safer distance.
Boycott stupid. Country over party.
