Well H-SC's game with Guilford will have to be rescheduled for there to be a potential three-way tiebreaker. That game has been postponed because Guilford had a COVID outbreak, but I've been told the two schools are trying to get it rescheduled. So, until further notice, you can forget a three-way tiebreaker.Nothinbutthelax wrote: ↑Sat Apr 10, 2021 7:52 pm LYN is really unselfish and moved the ball really well today. Some chatter on the Salisbury thread is all the chefs in the kitchen are not sharing... if they are not firing on all cylinders anything can happen.
Assuming no upsets of LYN beats HSC by 4 do they get #1 seed and homefield?
If they win by 2 it’s HSCs?

Re: ODAC lax season
Anticipating a very competitive HSC - Roanoke match up this coming Saturday if Roanoke can stay at 45% or better on face offs. Curious to see which goalie Roanoke goes with Federau or Lewis the freshman. Federau has been solid and had a big game 17 saves against the Generals. Face offs will be key, not sure the Noke D can withstand a make it take it game.

Staying at 45% is going to be a tall order based on what they did against common opponents + Lynchburg (Brummett played against Ricci last year).Dehuntshigwa’es wrote: ↑Sun Apr 11, 2021 5:41 pm Anticipating a very competitive HSC - Roanoke match up this coming Saturday if Roanoke can stay at 45% or better on face offs. Anyone want to take a stab at mid season all conference?
I'll post my locks and others for consideration - I've seen W&L, LYH, HSC, Noke, and Bridgewater play and looked at some stats as well to make sure players get consideration that I haven't seen. Maybe someone can provide color to the other teams? Ferrum, Shenandoah, RMC, Bridgewater have guys putting up solid numbers but I don't think any will get 1st team consideration as they are simply not top teams.
This list will skew heavily towards LYH/HSC/W&L as they are clear cut top 3. Pick it apart, tear it up, tell me I'm wrong. Would love to hear about players I missed.
First Team
Att
Lock - Lewis (LYH), Medwar (HSC)
Consideration - Robinson (LYN), Hayden (HSC), Rogers (LYH) Caldwell/Kammerman (Noke), Greenspon (W&L), Husselbaugh (Bridgewater)
* I feel like the LYH/HSC players will sweep it, but the Noke players are putting up points too. Greenspon is W&Ls top guy. Husselbaugh is great but has only played 5 games.
Mid
Lock - Dean (LYH)
Considering - Alverna (RMC), Holliday/Mullholland (W&L), Duffy/Doetzer (HSC), Wolfe (LYH). Noke has 3 guys all hovering around 20 points that I believe are middies as well.
* this one is tough. The RMC kid is putting up the points but they are a 5/6 place team this year. Points are attack heavy this year in the ODAC
FO
Lock - it will be Brummett or Ricci. 4 year ODAC starter vs. transfer player. Both sitting at 70% with a slight edge to Ricci, but Brummett has 9 points to Ricci 5 + more ground balls in less games played. Head to Head matchup probably decides this one.
SS
Jones (LYH), Thompson (HSC)
Jones is a pure DMID who plays FO wings and can push transition - 36 GBs, 2 goals
Thompson is a throwback all around player. Plays O/D (23 GBs, 6 pts) and takes face-offs (22/32 - 68%)
Does anyone else need to be considered here - anyone from W&L/Noke etc?
LSM:
Darminio (LYH), Ackaway (HSC) - Darminio has the GBs and CTs advantage, both have 5 pts (Darmino 3/2, Ackaway has 5gs) - LYH has played 3 more games so far.
D:
Lock - Gallagher (LYH)
Considering - Wallace/Morgan (HSC), Thorne/Horgan (W&L), Balch (Noke), Pupshis (LYH). Albright from LYH should be considered too but he missed a few games.
Goalie:
Moore (LYH), Taylor (W&L), Perry (HSC)

Mullholland at midfield and Taylor in goal. Greenspon is a maybe. I don’t see any D men as first team players. There’s a lot more lax to go I think Lynchburg and HSC will dominate first team slots.

Re: ODAC lax season is on
Ricci and Brummett actually have experience against each other. I know the wings are different from previous years, especially for Ricci since he was at Mary Wash, but Brummett was 17-32 vs. UMW last year with Ricci taking all but two of the draws in the game and Brummett taking all but four. The year before Ricci went 2-6 in the matchup, so hardly any data there.
But it's really interesting how much Lynchburg has improved from last year on faceoffs. Ricci "only" won 54% of his face-offs as a senior at Mary Washington, so it's not like he was dominating there by any means. 54% is solid but not but nothing to "write home about" by any means.
Meanwhile, Lynchburg was a complete disaster on faceoffs last year, though admittedly they played four legit teams and a Bridgewater team that has a really good FOGO. But given just how bad they were, it doesn't suggest much of any facet of the faceoff game was working well, both at the draw and on the wings.
Did Lynchburg switch up their wings this year or is Ricci the only difference in terms of personnel on faceoffs?

Pretty sure the wings are the are the same and Ricci is the only difference in personal for Lynchburg. I'm wondering if the coaching at LYN has benefitted Ricci and also if SNG is just better for him.thescottharris wrote: ↑Mon Apr 12, 2021 7:06 pm Ricci and Brummett actually have experience against each other. Re: ODAC lax season is on
I would agree Taylor is 1st team based on the win over LYN but if Moore is the difference vs. HSC it will be close. Moore does have lowest goals against so far.
Lewis at LYN is a lock. Rodgers and Wolfe been running midfield. It allows for Robinson and natural lefty #21 Ryan Kenny to start now that he’s healthy. They balance the midfield but not sure they will but their #’s have fallen off so not sure if they will get 1st line nod at attack or Middie.. Greenspon at W&L draws the #1 pole and still leads team in points.,
Ricci has benefited from coaching and team culture. The wings are the same. Darminio was a Freshman and is playing much better this year. Jones is a stud and moved to SSDM only last year so he’s figured it out..
I’d say HSC vs. LYN and head to head still in front of us there is time to shine. Thinking Witherall particularly and LYN Albright or Pupshis can all earn 1st line. Didn’t see much at NOKE that deserved 1st line but it that young group sticks together I think they can be very much in the mix..
Question: does the ODAC tourney count in the selection also?

Re: ODAC lax season is on
Greenspon at W&L draws the #1 pole and still leads team in points., ( nothingbutlax) . Mullholland has 17 pts vs Greenspon’s 19 more importantly Mullholland is more efficient. Greenspon has taken 58 shots shooting 25% vs Mullholland 40 shots at 35%, great number. Mullholland has 9 gbs vs 6 and only has 7 turnovers vs Greenspon’s 11....Greenspon is a very good player but Mullholland has a better lax IQ and rarely makes mistakes. Any word on Mize’s return

I think Mullholland will get 1st ODAC. Still games left to shine. I recall McGuire at LYN was. It doing great mid season then went off at the end to seal the Championship..
Do we know if the ODAC tournament counts in selection?
I’ve been curious about Mize. Would really feel for him if his season / career ended at LYN. He is a key piece..

I also wonder if the change in FO rules has benefitted his style more this year.

Thanks Scott. That does make the final HSC vs LYN game important for All ODAC selections..
Neutral grip does seem to eliminate outright wins and muck it up more allowing wings to have opportunity.. LYN wings are good. Looking forward to the HSC matchup. If it’s a split and HSC can keep TOs down I can see them winning that game..
lYN does have a challenge with Colorado college coming in to sharpen their metal and will be at home so thinking LYN 14 a HSC 11

You sir are wrong. IMO First team should be consisted all 10 of the gennies first liners. They have been playing absurd together recently, despite losing to SVU (who IMO, is a top 3 team). Greenspan has the ability to play at first team AA level if he does not think about his ex girlfriend while on the field.Dehuntshigwa’es wrote: ↑Mon Apr 12, 2021 6:51 pmThe only first team players from W&L should beislander wrote: ↑Mon Apr 12, 2021 9:35 am Anyone want to take a stab at mid season all conference?

Shenandoah led Mary Wash 10-7 with 11 minutes left, SU proceeded to lose 14-11. That's a hell of a way to lose a game.
Re: ODAC lax season is on
And that was the only game last night, as it appears the 2 others were PPD (VWC vs RMC/HSC vs Guilford)
Looking ahead to this weekend:
HUGE game with HSC/Noke
Lynchburg vs Bridgewater
W&L vs Ferrum
Assuming Guildford vs VWC won't happen.
