hmmm, "guys like Pete" and "Pete and others" sure as heck sounds like he was thinking of someone else more in particular than you...but, yes, you're rather predictable on this too...and yeah no one is really buying that you were "exercising restraint" rather than that the narrative just no longer had much value post election. That said, I also don't recall you rolling out "Portland" in response to Jan 6 like some did...but maybe? I'm happy to call that "restraint" that others didn't have...in reality, IMO, it was all a lot of BS to deflect from what was building, this white nationalist grossness from the underbelly of America and covered up by elites.

Listen, what you obviously get riled up about is people calling you out for what you've communicated in the past. Maybe instead of calling them "dishonest" in how they characterize your past posts, you might actually think about what messages you sent and stop blaming others for how they're received. Sure, the impressions we give sometimes come across differently than we intended (I know that's true in my own communications sometimes)...but that's on us as the writers to figure out how to say better. So, let's try to do better.

You're bothered that Georgia went blue? Two Senators in the special...after the claims of the Big Lie were the Trumpist reaction to November? Again, maybe look at what the GOP in the Trump era has become and blame that for the loss. You spent 4 years lecturing those of us, Republicans, who were alarmed by what the Trumpist movement meant, that we were the ones who didn't understand what was happening and why, and cheering for the "policies" you thought Trumpism was bringing to America...while we saw the corruption, the incompetence, the lying, the bigotry, the nativism, the isolationism...maybe you were wrong to back that horse?

Or maybe not...but that's what we discuss on here, different points of view.
 ...you just can't help yourself. Telling me what I really thought & what I really meant, ...even by not posting. You are ridiculous.

We don't discuss different points of view. You tell us (at great length) your point of view, then tell whoever your are addressing what you imagine their point of view is.

You are a piece of work. You not only insist on droning on about what you think, you recast what everyone else thinks, just to fit your preconceived narrative. THAT is an act of supreme arrogance.

obtw -- like Mitch, I blamed Trump for losing the Senate seats from GA.

...& again, I did not back Trump. I defended the things he accomplished which I felt were good for the country.
Like him or not, he was & remains the leader of the GOP which is still preferable to the alternative, imo.

This is a phenomenal post, yet again by Old Salt.

MDLax has this incredible almost-untoppable manner of pretending to apologize while simultaneously issuing a new insult. It really is stunning. There’s another post of his from yesterday to Old Salt (I can’t find it) where MD writes with oozing fake humility that ‘we are equally to blame’ for hyperbole here, but then takes the occasion to tell OS he’s mostly to blame. I mean it’s just unreal!

On cue, here comes the Democratic Party and all their woke birdbrains demanding The Masters leave Georgia. Georgia has more voting days than most states. Their sin: asking for identification to register.

What totalitarian anti American loons this party has become. Anyone willingly affiliating with it should be roundly mocked. Forever.

yeah, your insults are so persuasive.
I make a gesture of goodwill and you go ballistic, hyperbolic anyway.
Okay, got it.

"A bad person can do some good things"...I "cannot acknowledge that"? And you are telling me that I "recast what everyone else thinks, just to fit your (my) preconceived narrative."

Of course I can...and I've previously given examples of such.

My issue with Trumpists is not that they find something better about having a Republican in the White House, some particular policy preferences they may have, (heck, I'd never voted for a Dem before for POTUS in over 40 years of voting!), but they actively excuse the most corrupt, incompetent Administration and POTUS, certainly of our lifetimes, in service to those preferences. And they refuse to understand how disastrous that choice is for any vestige of credibility for conservative policy as promulgated by the GOP. And they refuse to understand how alienating from the changing demography of America this will mean for the GOP.

Understand my issue?

No, Trump and Trumpism is not preferable to the alternative. Trumpism needs to be thoroughly put in the trash bin of history.

Baseball has sadly regressed to being more boring than golf. When it takes 2 minutes between each pitch for the batter to readjust everything on his body.

Yup. Those patriots hate everything you love such as vote suppression, police brutality, censorship at right wing colleges, cancel culture such as the hate spewed against the Dixie Chicks, tax shelters for the wealthy elites, overseas wars financed by taxpayers while the rich profit, etc .......

It was obvious he was referring to me. He confirmed it when he said I reacted as he expected I would.
He was trolling me. Chiding me for not posting on the subject, when I was in fact exercising restraint.
He's been pinging on my every post since the election, calling me out on every issue, then saying I had no basis to comment because I had defended Trump on some issues. Followed by an "I told you so" on every issue.
F-that. Who is he to tell other's what they can think or say ?
I let him know I did not appreciate it. He did not take the hint.

It should still be possible to cordially discuss the issues without personalizing the discussion.
When I do so, it is in reply, in self-defense, ...which is a waste of time.
Thanks for butting in. You're a real peacemaker.
hmmm, "guys like Pete" and "Pete and others" sure as heck sounds like he was thinking of someone else more in particular than you...but, yes, you're rather predictable on this too...and yeah no one is really buying that you were "exercising restraint" rather than that the narrative just no longer had much value post election.

You're so bitter that the GOP has left you, you behead anyone who does not share your ideological purity.
You are such a zealot, you cannot acknowledge that a bad person can do some good things.
As was said in the covid thread -- everything has to be black or white. There is no gray area.
Most of this doesn’t align with reality on these very boards unless we literally reverse the definition of a few words utilized in this post.

They don’t want clean voting for a reason, folks.
Hopefully the people that run the Masters tell all of these people to go pound sand. Anybody that wants to boycott can stay home and watch a basebore game.
Basebore in the context of golf?
Baseball has sadly regressed to being more boring than golf. When it takes 2 minutes between each pitch for the batter to readjust everything on his body.
Dude golf sucks balls and I’ve somehow managed to play rounds on like 5/7 top ranked courses in the country for business. Probably picked up 80-82 of the 90 hole because I suck the huge balls when it comes to golf but at least in baseball folks run occasionally, have contact with other natural things in the world (ground or human being) and don’t drive carts and pay kids to carry their equipment around. (Except relief pitchers)

I dunno...the Orioles are 3-0, that's exciting!
For now.
Not the same Orioles or game that I use to love. Baseball mixing with politics is a toxic brew.
Works for the NBA which isn’t as large as NFL but faster growth and dynamism.

Golf is a different animal. It can be frustrating as hell. That time you drive the ball 250 yards off the tee strait as an arrow always makes you forget how bad everything else in your game goes. I grew up loving baseball. My friends and I would play all of the time. If I wasn't as old as I I would still love playing the game. Watching on TV for me is painful. The game is too damn slow.
We don't make mistakes, we have happy accidents.

yeah, your insults are so persuasive.

It is when you hate a lot.
