FanLax D1 Men Rankings (02.09.19)
We’ve posted the FanLax D1 Men Rankings and, by clicking a team, each Team’s Game Schedule including the details of how each team accrued their Points to earn their Ranking. This includes the Points and change in Points of each team (and their opponent) before and after each game. If you’d prefer to see the game schedule chronologically, we also have a D1 Men Games Chronologically including each team’s Points, Change in Points, etc.

Towson at #20 says 0 games, but as the Hop board knows all too well...

Re: FanLax D1 Men Rankings (02.09.19)
There are similarities in that in both systems the competitions are treated as sum-zero games but that's about it. ELO is frequently used as a predictor and obviously you could use our system to predict Ws and Ls but... that's not what it's built to do.
Re: FanLax D1 Men Rankings (02.09.19)
I do like the objectively of the FanLax Ranking system and the ability for teams to move up or down based on their opponents points.
This list is ranked by Average Fan Points for a team in the conference (not total).
Rank Conf Avg Pts
1 B10 914
2 ACC 831
3 Ivy 757
4 Big East 731
5 Patriot 711
6 America East 652
7 CAA 635
8 NEC 574
9 Southern 485
10 MAAC 438
11 Indep 293
Will be interesting to see if we have conference change order.

I wouldn’t be shocked to see the CAA jump the AEC at some point during the season.

The anty system is turning all positive. A few questions (like flies on a warm winter day....I know )DU-fan wrote: ↑Sun Feb 10, 2019 12:46 pm I do like the objectively of the FanLax Ranking system and the ability for teams to move up or down based on their opponents points.

If RobbyMO finished "ranked" 16th, why are there 4 teams with more starting points?
And, I like the conference average. Perhaps, some reward/penalizing can be formulated based on team out of conference scheduling. Looked at this last year, but, for example, champion YALE. Played at least one team from every conference except Sunshine and ACC. Lost the only games against BigEast and BiG opponents. Many on here would cry, "nice record, but who'd they play....couldn't even win their own tourney"
Nothing to do with fun rankings, but point is, how did Yale make the tourney at all......or, rather, Bucknell beat them......b/c Patriot league is only a one bid team...

It would appear that John's Hopkins men like to play in the mud. Good job against UNC on the road.
