Not because it’s not an issue in some macro/metaphysical sense, but because we have a tangible tragedy to evaluate and understand in front of us. Many deaths, whatever drove this cat to do this before he finds out what it’s Iike on the other side of that table for the rest of his life. Despite the narrative most commonly presented, I’m not sure if we have increasing mental health issues or simply more understanding, focus and infrastructure for it (if still inadequate for this problem) but we can do better in that area than we are today.
