You're sadly mistaken, I've never had any allegiance to any little letter, never been a member of, or blinded by, any political party.

Dmac, you are aware that the powers that be in Albany just introduced legislation to make illegal that vile and reprehensible practice of gun raffles. The audacity of those volunteer fire departments and VFW posts to want to raffle off a shotgun to raise funds for those organizations. This stuff is happening in our own back yard Dmac. I only own one rifle that my brother gave me... an M-1 carbine the same type of rifle my dad carried in WW2. I also have no allegiance to any letter D or R. I just want the SOB's to leave me the hell alone and let me live my life. What dangers exist in gun raffles in Upstate NY that bother a bunch of folks in Albany so much? Our rights disappear one small step at a time.

I get it, cradle, and I share your sentiments. Legislators legislate all kinds of things and put a lot of restrictions on our lives. Pretty sure you can't even own a gun in most of the rest of the world, so all in all we're still doing alright with our guns in NY. That's not to say I don't think it's a lot of horseschit that you can't raffle off a shotgun at the VFW in Oswego. The people who are shooting each other give the anti gunners a lot of ammunition for their cause, politicians get their votes. Both the Ds and Rs say they're going to put an end to all of that, but don't bet on it. Ds and Rs are pretty similar, 'cept for the crooked parts of the R, I guess.
