If I am not mistaken, the transfer portal listing is an unofficial tracking within this forum of what transfer activity has been rumored or announced. The portal itself I believe can only be seen by coaches? So portal tracking is fairly accurate speculation?
There are three present IVY players listed:
Yale: Caccamo ‘24 is a Yale freshman who apparently is transferring to Syracuse

Harvard: Madronic ‘22 is listed on the ‘21 Harvard roster as a jr and available as a grad student in ‘23??

Dartmouth; rizzotti ‘22 is listed on the ‘21Dartmouth roster as a jr. Is he transferring out after a jr year if he is currently enrolled?? Or is he like Harvard’s Madronic letting coaches know he is available in ‘23

Given the success of the graduate transfers from the IVY senior class of ‘21 (Duke, Denver,uva,ND)....I anticipate more IVY portal listing

All the lacrosse players last year got a uniform end to their season. The IVY league alone got shortchanged by the IL administration. Seniors will graduate and have a grad year of eligibility everywhere including the IVY league IF they can get into their schools grad program (big if!) and even would they want to? Jrs likely would be announcing their availability post graduation as I can’t see someone completing three years at an IVY then transferring out. Unhappy freshman or sophomores I could see transferring but I do not see them transferring to a better lacrosse situation if they are not at least second or first team IVY players. As a parent I would not be happy if my kid wanted to go to a less competitive lacrosse school to play and give up an IVY spot in school
To make it to DI hockey, MANY student play one or two years in juniors pre college. Many lax did PG years or transferred to a prep school and repeated a year to get that DI opportunity. Many regular students take five years to get an undergraduate degree so if a family can swing it I hope all the IVY players who can will take advantage of a potential IVY opportunity
So getting back to the Dartmouth LSM....is his portal listing a true transfer out of Dartmouth or an announcement of post graduate availability?

Rizzotti is getting his degree at Dartmouth and will be a 2023 transfer with two years of eligibility. Will be a great addition to a top program.

Good for him. The best of both worlds. Get a degree from Dartmouth. Play your senior year with your teammates and hopefully get to continue to play at a great grad school. That makes a lot of sense to me. And announcing now gives a lot of programs the knowledge that a proven LSM will be available in '23. I bet you will see more junior IVY players announce a similar move and I wish them all good luck

Madronic made an announcement last year at Harvard and he has a couple of more seasons to go as well. He’s excellent.

Another OSU transfer for Hofstra:

This will give Hofstra two Georgia players, A/M Colton Rudd being the other.

Isn't this list for the 2022 season? Supinski is already at Cabrini and playing there this year.

Don't know how strictly this was enforced for lacrosse. It could help players who think a different ACC school would be a better fit.

The ACC ruling opens up a lot of opportunities for guys who are sitting very deep on very deep benches. Not sure leaving one ACC team for another is going to solve that problem though.

If I recall correctly, Joe Yevoli transferred to Syracuse from Virginia after three seasons and was forced to sit out a season because Dom didn't give him a release. Conversely, Nicky Gallaso got a release from UNC and transfered to Syracuse, and didn't have to sit a year (although I think he might have gotten injured and missed his first season at Cuse anyway). My memory is fuzzy.

Galasso transferred to Cuse when they were in the Big East. And then the next year they moved to the ACC. So that’s why he didn’t have to wait

Yevoli's first year at UVA was 2002. I think he was injured in 2005, but was still on the roster. So, 2006 would've been as a fifth year senior at SU.

I don't remember him sitting a year at Virginia being injured. But like I said, my memory is fuzzy on that. The one thing I remember was how dynamic that UVA attack was with Conor Gill playing at X along with two freshman in John Christmas and Joe Yevoli. Christmas and Yevoli scored a boatload of goals on Gill's assists. Unbelievable talent.

short story injured in 04 and played thru it, still lingering and redshirted in 05. asked for release and starsia granted to schools not on schedule.

appealed to casteen (president) and full release was granted. don't know whether his school at syracuse was grad or undergrad and it doesn't say whether he got uva degree.
