Rhinegold Chug-A-Mugs were $.35 at The Rail in Oneonta. That was the best deal in town except Wednesday afternoon nickel drafts at the Royal. God only knows what that beer was. More than likely it was what had gone down the drain the week before. Obviously a beers taste didn't mean much at the time.Brooklyn wrote: ↑Fri Feb 08, 2019 2:36 pm Possibly the world's best website has a few really good articles on brewskies. Boylan non alcohol birch beer - minty and thirst quenching ~ great stuff.
Birch beer is unknown among the yokels here in Lake Wobegone. Of course, it's old hat to East Coast Yankees and Canadians.

Don’t recall ever seeing this label or perhaps I was never looking for it, but it’s right up my beer alley. I’ll have to go look for it. Interesting history too. The brewery, Badische Staatsbrauerei Rothaus, indicates that it is a state run brewery of Baden-Württemberg. Tannenzäpfle Means “little fir cones” for the trees in its Black Forest zone.

Very difficult to get unless you have friends in the right parts of WI. Brewery is in the very small town of Algoma, WI on the shore of Lake Michigan about 45 minutes ESE of Green Bay. Excellent dark stout.

This is actually very good also. Heavier than I generally drink but it’s surprisingly drinkable and it has a lightness to it. Much better than many IPAs I have tried. Would rather drink this
