This should be a great game in what is the PL opener for both squads.
Both teams ranked in the top 13. Toomey and Cassese have their teams on upward trends this season.
Faceoff battle is one to watch between 2 great performers. Who controls this one and gets the win? What matchups are you watching?

#10 Loyola @ #13 Lehigh

I agree the game will be won at the face off X and how Olmstead and Lindley play. I would also like to see more from the middies... I think a low scoring game, 9-7, the houndskramerica.inc wrote: ↑Wed Mar 03, 2021 9:56 am This should be a great game in what is the PL opener for both squads.

patriot's in pretty good shape early season. 10 - 4 out of conference best i can tell. wins against an acc and richmond. b1g not playing ooc and no ivy. this one may go a long way in hashing who sets up in the pole position for an at large. or 2.

No Ivy this year means the PL is in a solid discussion for at least 2 teams in the NCAAs. 3 if everything breaks exactly right. Possible, but unlikely.
Re: #10 Loyola @ #13 Lehigh
if this type of record continues, they're the #2 conference. it wouldn't need to break exactly right unless the committee decides they're selecting teams like they never have before.kramerica.inc wrote: ↑Wed Mar 03, 2021 1:19 pm No Ivy this year means the PL is in a solid discussion for at least 2 teams in the NCAAs. 3 if everything breaks exactly right. Loyola and Army are legit if they can stay Covid free/healthy. Lehigh and Navy certainly are off to good starts and look good on paper too. Bucknell, if they can get past covid protocols, could be formidable too.

Do we know if Savio is back from injury?laxbro11 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 03, 2021 11:44 amI agree the game will be won at the face off X and how Olmstead and Lindley play. I'm hearing Savio is day to day... but I'm doubtful. If he doesn't play it will be a tight game. Not sure double poling is the answer. Not enough data points on Lehigh to make a prediction. Will be interesting to see McNulty and Leggett square off against each other on the wings. Would also like to see more production from our middies, as has already been pointed out.

Loyola should be the favorite. However, the idea of a Maryland team going up to the frigid mountains of Pennsylvania for an early season game makes this a possible toss-up.

Do you think it is warm in Maryland in the winter?faircornell wrote: ↑Fri Mar 05, 2021 8:09 pm Loyola should be the favorite. However, the idea of a Maryland team going up to the frigid mountains of Pennsylvania for an early season game makes this a possible toss-up.

Well... Relatively warmer. The last time I checked, the predicted temperature was around the freezing point in Bethlehem. As I recall a few seasons ago, Cornell played a rough and tumble away game against the Mountain Hawks, and people present noted the strong wind on the field. This could make the wind chill factor significant.
I may be wrong, but it seems raise the possibility of a larger home field advantage than usual.

Playing lacrosse in the winter is absolutely nuts...!
Re: #10 Loyola @ #13 Lehigh
That depends on what your definition of warm is. Just quickly checking I see the average temps down there for Dec and Jan are in the mid 40s, so to this northerner I'd say, yeah, it's relatively warm in Maryland in the winter.TheBigIguana wrote: ↑Sat Mar 06, 2021 1:31 amDo you think it is warm in Maryland in the winter?faircornell wrote: ↑Fri Mar 05, 2021 8:09 pm Loyola should be the favorite. Re: #10 Loyola @ #13 Lehigh
Lehigh has never beaten Loyola despite having some good teams.
0-8 in patriot league games and winless agaisnt them in prior meetings. All time record might be 0-15
Picking Lehigh to win their first game ever agaisnt Loyola

Got into Binghamton NY around 1:15am last night and it was lightly snowing and 19 degrees not factoring wind chill in.faircornell wrote: ↑Sat Mar 06, 2021 9:04 am Well... Relatively warmer. Now I love those cowboys, I love their gold
Love my uncle, God rest his soul
Taught me good, Lord, taught me all I know
Taught me so well, that I grabbed that gold
I left his dead ass there by the side of the road, yeah

Re: #10 Loyola @ #13 Lehigh
Will be a long day if we can’t win a face off
Re: #10 Loyola @ #13 Lehigh
Along with lack of face off wind. Loyola needs to stop the turnovers Olmstead with 2 so far

Nope been toggling a couple games no problems.
