This ultimately cost Schiano the Tennessee Head Coaching job because a few nut jobs were loud and scared the UT administration. The precursor to the Cancel Culture we are being overrun with in our country. It used to be innocent until proven guilty in the USA, not if you are on the wrong side of the leftist mob.

Be careful of throwing stones in glass houses.
Reality is UT fans wanted an alum and didn’t like Schiano and raised that past issue to drive him out. They didn’t really care about that issue, would gladly take Peyton and Fuller back and some of that culture wasn’t too lady friendly we’ve learned over time. Schiano/PSU was a red herring to get their guy who was really Tee Martin not Josh Heupel, the Cincinnati coach or Jeremy Pruitt.
Now I love those cowboys, I love their gold
Love my uncle, God rest his soul
Taught me good, Lord, taught me all I know
Taught me so well, that I grabbed that gold
I left his dead ass there by the side of the road, yeah

Last I checked, Schiano is still coaching. He's hardly been canceled.

As for Paterno, all he had to do was not doing nothing about a serial abuser in his ranks. That he didn't know about it is literally unbelievable. What he did (or rather, didn't do) may not have rose to the level of a crime but we as a society are well within our right to reject anyone who fails to do that bare minimum of their basic moral duty, which is to keep children safe.

Back to Big Ten lacrosse—the Rivalry crab trophy will be presented twice this year, once for each Hop-Maryland game. I guess there was some discussion about whether or not to only award it once (presumably for the second matchup?). No one outside the Hop and UMD communities probably care about this but then again a significant portion of this board are Hop and UMD fans.

If we split this year, the winner of the second game gets to hold the trophy about 10x longer than the winner of the first game. So, even with it being awarded at both games, I don't think that there's much question as to which game is the "more important one" with respect to trophy bragging rights (or whatever you want to call it).

Obviously both games count equally in the record books though!

After the beatings Hop handed out the last time they played 2x in a season, all of us Terps fans should proceed cautiously!

Sending Maryland from a projected top 3 or so seed to almost missing the tournament was sweet indeed. Hop having a bad year up until that point was just all part of our nefarious plan to stick it to the Terps as much as possible. 8-)

That was pretty interesting and very frustrating. Terps got out to strong leads in both games, then the defense got exposed by a great freshman. They looked awful, and that continued through R1 against Towson, but then somehow dominated UVA......until they didn't. Defense was baaaaaaad.

Team had been playing with fire for awhile even before that. It was kinda clear they weren’t the #2 team in the country but the Hopkins losses were still a big shock to the system. Gave up 12 to Michigan; got behind by a lot against a mediocre Rutgers team and gave up 13; had to score late and then in OT to beat OSU. They were really lacking long pole defense that year (after lacking short stick defense badly in 2018.) The UVA game was their best game of the year for 50 mins. And hey, as far as I’m concerned they still won that game.

look at the last milliman-tillman tilt. When Milliman got the job I went through his record at cornell vs hop opponents and it was strong. Hopkins has done very well at college park so interesting to see if we have an upset coming although I'm not optimistic.

It was the 2018 season that made me wonder if Milliman ever had a Plan B. Maryland wasn't the first team shut off Teat. But Cornell sure played like they'd never seen a team shut off Teat. In fairness to Milliman, last season he showed that you couldn't shut off Teat.

Jules Heningburg did a podcast with Grant Ament recently. First part they talked about Big Ten and their time playing. Then they go into the PLL. Then back at the end they talk about this season and how they think their schools will do this season. Sounds like it was done last week

He wasn’t off the field for very long so whatever it was must have been pretty minor.
