I think he's making a massive mountain out of a mole hill from Milliman seemingly not checking on the injured player as he comes off the field. IIRC the next play was starting and he was probably already locked in. I'm sure when there was a break in the action he went over to DiPietro. It's a whole lot of nothing.

He’s not a Doctor. He’s coaching a game and he has a medical staff and trainers to look after players who are hurt. By all accounts Coach is a kind man. I’m sure he checked on the players booboo when he got a chance.

The past few pages have made me feel good about my decision not to go on this board Sun-Tues.

What's everyone looking for in the game this weekend?

Would be nice to clean up alot of the catching/ throwing errors. I also think this is a team that eventually plays zone, but maybe not much this week, given the lack of practice time and the fact that we can probably get by with man against Michigan.

No strength coach can take an unathletic kid and turn him into an athlete. Even if he could, groundballs are less about pure athleticism and more about stick work, desire, and strategy (man/ball, etc.), in my opinion.
I'm shocked you twisted my position into one that you can strawman but hey, keep up the good work.

I really don't want to ruin my hard lost reputation and be a voice of reason but this season is really Hopkins 2020 2.0 and this link is really where 2021 and the Milliman era starts. According to xanders this is his 30ish rated class at the moment mostly made up of kids he not petro recruited which makes me wonder how the scholarship $ is doled out if you're recruiting guys supposedly not in demand from the accs and b1gs. The brackton bowlers, the nick kaufmans, hopefully these kids are human gb vacuums and defensive glue.

Are you being ironic? That's the only explanation.

06 said groundballs fall under the purview of the strength coach. I disagreed with that. Your response to my post disagreeing with 06 was, verbatim: "You are right the strength and conditioning coach has nothing to do with a players athletic development."

That, of course, is not what I said or meant at all. But you didn't care. Your post was textbook strawman. Couldn't possibly draw it up any better. Don't be shocked that I didn't want to engage with you in good faith after that.

Petro recruited Kaufman. He, Todaro, and Teachout are the remaining Petro guys. Everyone else is Milliman. I also don't think that list is up to date.

So what do people think? Does Mabbett see the field this weekend? Does he ever again?

It could just be lip service but it really seems like these kids like playing for this staff, particularly Junior. The early going will be rough as we saw last weekend but I think once they settle down, by the end of the year, and certainly by next year, we could see a pretty fun team.

I'm curious if the DeSo move to attack was necessitated by the Murphy transfer or if it was in the cards all along. Either way, it's looking like a good decision.

“I think he’s the ultimate players’ coach,” DeSimone said. “You can have conversations with him and shoot ideas back and forth. He’ll say, ‘This is what I think, this is what I think benefits you, this is what I think is great for your game.’ I think it’s awesome because you develop as a player a lot faster than [with] a coach who focuses on the team as a whole. He’s your own personal coach to every single one of the offensive guys.”

thats a heck of a quote.

I'm hoping for three years out of this staff. But of course, if we only get two, that's probably because things went pretty well.

Which assistant are you most worried about as the first/most likely potential defector?

I noticed this article mentions that Junior shoots on the goalies.
That's important.

I'm on a different planet for asking who he's worried about? - making no statement on whether I personally think there's a risk of anyone leaving. It's almost as if trying to understand someone's perspective on an issue is a good way to learn things / consider new possibilities that you hadn't thought of before.

You seem like you're a fun person to deal with.

I'm not entirely sure what JGJR's plan is - I have no idea if he wants to be a college coordinator long term. Seems to me that he could go and do any number of things in the sport and don't include being a college assistant.

I just find it comical that after 1 game in which the team lost and neither side of the ball played well you guys are worried about assistants being taken to be HC's. I get where Desimone is coming from by liking a "player's coach" but isn't the coaches job to make the ENTIRE TEAM better and focus on the collective group to achieve success rather than just a few guys getting better individually?
