I bet all those delusional right wingers in TexASS are now regretting their "free market" solutions to weather problems.

Funny is right. Texas IS the posterchild for what self-sufficient / green energy looks like...not so pretty is it, that is unless you like to ignore general maintenance and inclement weather preparedness in your facility.
Try this cool trick, fill your radiator with just water in MN, and see how long your engine block lasts. If you do this, you might be stupid....regardless of party affiliation.
A fraudulent intent, however carefully concealed at the outset, will generally, in the end, betray itself.

Just remember that TX problems are primarily with the natural gas and coal generation. Wind/solar a small percentage of the mix, and actually on the first bad day there was more wind power than expected in spite of the down wind generators. Green energy was NOT the problem here.youthathletics wrote: ↑Thu Feb 18, 2021 4:28 pmFunny is right. None of this conversation means diddly squat if you live in NYS especially Upstate NY. It does not matter what color your energy supplier looks like when you get hit with a foot of ice and snow. S**t will happen just like it does every winter. All I can say to you folks in Texas.. welcome to the party. If you have natural gas service to your house invest in a top of the line on demand generator. If you don't have natural gas the old fashioned wood stove will keep you warm.RedFromMI wrote: ↑Thu Feb 18, 2021 5:39 pmJust remember that TX problems are primarily with the natural gas and coal generation. And what where the root causes of those problems....gotta look deeper. I explained it in very simple terms with the radiator analogy; I know with certainty, that you understand the real why...mechanically speaking. Officials for the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, which manages most of Texas’ grid, said the primary cause of the outages Tuesday appeared to be the state’s natural gas providers. Many are not designed to withstand such low temperatures on equipment or during production.

Might be? Correction: would be.
Luckily Minnesotans are smart - they believe in government regulation in order to promote the common welfare thereby making a better and more wholesome society. This unlike the morons in TexASS who believe that the magical market solves everything from power shortage to the heartbreak of psoriasis.

Silly Rabbit, excess co2 causes whatever calamities the environmental fruit loops say it does. Never question them, just blindly believe everything they tell you. They are the ONLY people that understand the science. At least that is what they want us all to believe. I am one of the few willing to publicly state that they are all full of buffalo bagels.

Hey buddy, how many people lived in Kansas that year and what was the population of the largest city? Other than farming, what industry was there? Please compare and contrast it to Texas 2021.runrussellrun wrote: ↑Fri Feb 19, 2021 9:00 am https://www.history.com/news/great-plai ... big-die-up
I wonder if caring, liberal type folks cheered with glee at the plight of their fellow neighbors and US citizens. especially in NYC and at the yacht club. Lest alone the cows
It IS nice when people offer SOLUTIONS to energy outages. Family in Texas has never lost power. Of course, they are in a wealthy area.
It appears it is the "newer" residential areas that are hit the hardest.
Time for more fear porn, SKI AREAS closing b/c of no snow "news" stories.
what are folks basing the claims of "increased" severe weather events? and, what makes one think weather is "severe" ? I love going out fishing , especially when it IS blowing above 20 knots. Do others consider this "severe" weather? small craft "advis- roserrary" is just that : advice.

you have posted many videos, n the past, explaining how the earth is getting warmer. WARMER. (the reason why you posted the Indian power plant/glacier story
find it bizarre that people move to WARM climates, based on so many different scales-methodologies, ( I like Koppens and Burpee. USDA zones are great too

TexASS is the poster child for dependency on Washington DC while claiming to be so free and "independent". No state has more corporate welfare queens or has had a governor threatening secession on the grounds that it cannot withstand federal intervention in it. Then when it gets bailed out because of its debt, it bites the hand that feeds it by continuing to vote rePUKEblican. Anybody who denies that is full of squat. Indeed, to quote you, "stupid....regardless of party affiliation''.
