Re: North Carolina
Another bonus for the Heels is Marie McCool is a volunteer assistant coach. They are going to be a great team to watch play. CW will handle all the pressure well-she's just a great all-around kid!!
Re: North Carolina
I have been saying this exact thing for the past 2 years. It is conceivable that the practice/non-starter "team" at UNC would be a top 20 team by themselves. Practicing against the best makes game day easy....

Re: North Carolina
Just heard a rumor that UNC-JMU game is cancelled.
Re: North Carolina
Canceled or postponed? Did one of the teams have a Covid outbreak?
Relying on you, lll, as you have impeccable sources.

Not a rumor. Game is postponed due to Covid issues with JMU.

Re: North Carolina
A severe lack of leadership. Adults claiming to care about the kids, making decisions in their best interest? A couple of positive tests that were all false positives. Lets hope it is just postponed and they will play at a later date. These players cannot deal with this ongoing travesty.

strange wording in the tweet "...differing isolation periods mandated by the chapel hill area...JMU has no active cases..."njbill wrote: ↑Wed Feb 10, 2021 3:17 pm JMU tweet.

Re: North Carolina
Looks like UNC-SBU is a go for Sunday. Join me on facebook.com/totc.mobi for Final Third coverage of this and other noon matches Sunday (I'd do more but I'm recovering from anesthesia-induced frog-in-the-throat from a procedure on Thursday).
UNC is, for me, a prohibitive favorite for the national title. And I know, I said that for Boston College in 2019 until a certain Megan Taylor put up a brick wall during that weekend at Homewood field.
As Turtles Lax aptly said, you can compare her game to that of Jen Adams, even though I think Caitlyn Wurzburger is going to be a better passer than a shooter. But who knows? There is only one ball for seven available attack players.
A parenthetical note: this site chose Taylor Cummings as its Player of the Decade not only because of what she did for McDonogh, but for her winning attitude that she brought to McDonogh Eagles, the Baltimore Ride, the New York Fight, Maryland Terrapins, and the U.S. senior women's national team (hey! we need to give them a nickname like the Aussies do for their national teams). I think she may have lost 8 games (if that!) the entire decade.

Re: North Carolina
I read today that Borque tore an ACL during the fall. (Maybe that was common knowledge amongst browsers of this forum and I just missed it.) The midfield is by far Carolina's weakest position so it's too bad they lost Borque's versatility and veteran presence.
Guess they're just gonna have to throw some random five-star recruit on the field instead and hope for the best.

Re: North Carolina
Has anyone ever tried to face guard Katie Hoeg?
Re: North Carolina
Yes the Teams that have successfully competed against UNC. You raised the exact way you attack UNC defensively. Most people faceguard Ortega, but letting Hoeg feed freely from behind is slow and steady death. Don’t get me wrong, it’s pick your poison but this strategy gives you the best chance.
Re: North Carolina
Remarkable to consider that Jenny Levy was 24 years old when she became coach of the Tar Heels. And to this day, the only coach the Tar Heels have ever known.
