Re: Denver@Duke 2/5@1500 hrs.
Manown goes from basically 4 year starter at attack to 3rd midfield! There is obviously no guarantee they win this game let alone the whole thing but good lord, the offensive depth on this team is mind boggling.backerzone wrote: ↑Fri Feb 05, 2021 6:48 am https://s3.amazonaws.com/goduke.com/doc ... That was great. Thank you.
Now Jadon Kerry is all but invisible... though maybe we'll see him on Man-up? JP Basile also now seemingly invisible.

Re: Denver@Duke 2/5@1500 hrs.
you can only start 10 players at a time and having back-up middies qualifies as depth. I wouldn't count Denver out...TAV wrote: ↑Wed Feb 03, 2021 10:38 am Denver’s a Paper Tiger. They are going to get blown out by Duke and lose to UNC. They can’t compete with the ACC. They’ll return home to their cake walk schedule and make the NCAA’s, only too lose in the early rounds. And don’t talk about TD and all that. The last time I checked it’s a team sport and besides a few years back they had THE ALL WORLD FO for 4 years and won 1 NC.
PS Winning 1 NC in 4 years is pretty darn good.

All signed up with ESPN+ (it's only $5.99 a month cancel anytime, folks, bite the bullet, well worth it) now I just need to go out and get a six pack. Maybe a 12 pack?
PizzaSnake, answer my question (probably won't see it cuz it's on the previous page), is that a 6-1 game or 15-10 game?
I'm going Denver 16-8.
Re: Denver@Duke 2/5@1500 hrs.
Duke by 2!... 12-10
Re: Denver@Duke 2/5@1500 hrs.
I'm guessing you didn't watch the Utah-Denver game, tech?
Re: Denver@Duke 2/5@1500 hrs.
duke wins by 7, we convert all games to scrimmages on teams' schedules and duke is crowned in a special halftime ceremony in march when the weather breaks.

Manown never seemed like he was really a Duke-level quality attackman. I think he has traits that remind us of great Duke attackmen in the past, like Quinzani and Dionne, but he isn't as good as those guys. I'm not surprised to see him getting bumped down a bit, and his game doesn't seem fit for midfield. With WIlliams and O'Neill being lefties, there isn't much room on that side of the field.pcowlax wrote: ↑Fri Feb 05, 2021 7:29 amManown goes from basically 4 year starter at attack to 3rd midfield! i expected o'neill to move to midfield. it was going to be either/or.ohmilax34 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 05, 2021 10:08 amManown never seemed like he was really a Duke-level quality attackman. with montgomery there, that's not really a 2nd midfield likely. those lines would rotate equal time. if they all stay healthy (which depth will help to do in the meantime in a vicious positive cycle), running 2 midfields might be the biggest advantage they have on teams.
alteratively, could also contribute to their potentially largest achilles heel... if everyone wants to eat.
Re: Denver@Duke 2/5@1500 hrs.
Nota, but based on what I saw I'm thinkin' Duke is just a much stronger team pretty much all over the field, wasn't at all impressed with Denver. Of course that's based on pre season hype but Duke's pretty loaded. I'm thinkin' we might see Bill blow a gasket today too.

Sorry DMac! Didn't see your original pick... saw the 2nd one.
I like it close cause Duke tends to be slow out of the gate. Sowers could be the difference in a close one.
If you haven't seen it (archived on youtube) watch the 2019 PU vs Denver game. It's a beauty, especially the last few minutes. My point, Sowers had a day vs Denver and was the difference in that one goal squeaker.

I would love to see a John Danowski response to Bill Tierney blowing a gasket.DMac wrote: ↑Fri Feb 05, 2021 11:01 am Nota, but based on what I saw I'm thinkin' Duke is just a much stronger team pretty much all over the field, wasn't at all impressed with Denver. I hope so! Multiple gaskets! Maybe an ejection!ohmilax34 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 05, 2021 11:02 amI would love to see a John Danowski response to Bill Tierney blowing a gasket.DMac wrote: ↑Fri Feb 05, 2021 11:01 am Nota, but based on what I saw I'm thinkin' Duke is just a much stronger team pretty much all over the field, wasn't at all impressed with Denver. Coach D’s response...an ever so slight dumb-founded shake of the head and then back to the business of COACHING.
Even though I’m a Carolina fan through and through, I have tremendous respect for Coach D, he’s a class act.
Re: Denver@Duke 2/5@1500 hrs.
Duke attackmen JP Basile, Cameron Mule, and Joe Robertson will not play this weekend due to the school’s health protocols.
Re: Denver@Duke 2/5@1500 hrs.
That's awful!!! So Duke will be forced to play Dyson Williams, Joey Manown and Michael Sowers at attack? How are they going to get through this game? They might only score 18 goals?
Re: Denver@Duke 2/5@1500 hrs.
W*T*F, this game is showing as coming on the ACC Network at 3.....don't need no stinkin' ESPN+ for this game.
