where are these crazies? livelove might be a little over the top, but even he probably has more love for the b1g. and no one i know of would dare compare any team to '84 hopkins.

I’ll take either,

One game at a time.

Buckeyes on the clock.

That reminds me of that article I found years ago dissing mascots.

It said Brutus the Buckeye’s head looks like a turd nugget with a kernel of corn embedded in it.

Ok this time I was hyperbolizing based on the seemingly unending optimism in the Rutgers thread here (as well as other threads) and from what I’ve seen browsing Twitter. If everyone is saying they are underrated and overlooked, then are they really underrated or overlooked? A question for the sports philosophers. No one compared them to any historically great teams that I’m aware of but sometimes it really feels like that.

Wombat—or perhaps a nutsack dipped in chocolate?

I am mildly amused we are the only B1G team who didn’t officially drop their first-half schedule yesterday so cue the conspiracy theories but my guess is it has something to do with the campus shutdown this week. Maybe Ernie hasn’t been in the office.

It's a funko pop basically.

was cool that college crosse gave the transfer goalie some love. Interesting to see howard schnellenbergers grandson-the kid who transferred to uva this week.

would be awesome if colonade offered game packages if you can see the field from there.

How many times are you going to mention the colonade - go rent a balcony room for crying out loud

While I don't usually succumb to the who would win questions - 79 vs 84 Hopkins is somewhat interesting in that the teams are from the same generation with no common players - though I might submit just because you are undefeated doesn't absolutely mean you were the best team of that 9 year final run - for example the 78 team had Ned facing-off and O'Neill while having most of the '79 team except for Cookie and Dave Black - maybe I am forgetting another freshman contributor. By the time the tournament rolled around - except for the first quarter against UVA - the '85 team was a juggernaut - outscored UVA 11-3 over the final 45 minutes - destroyed Cuse in the finals
and the 81 team - what if that one game had turned out differently?

Ernie doesn’t have a phone, tablet, laptop, desktop or home internet connection? I was amused but that actually shifted to concern. If there was a B1G team that pulled the plug on the season first who would you put your money on?

Who cares

Gurenlian did a preview of all the Big Ten FOGOs and he had very positive things to say about Prouty and his potential under the new faceoff rules: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GgPszkgJJxk

Definitely us, and I don't even think it's close/a discussion. Hopkins as a school and the way we operate looks completely different than any other lacrosse school in the Big Ten - except for Northwestern on the women's side of things.

I don't think any of the 6 programs will shut down their season for good, but we are the clear frontrunners in my book if anyone does.

One thing that’s interesting.
Both teams played against teams that were missing
key players. I believe I’m correct, Pete Worstell was
out, injured the entire year of ‘79. Tim Nelson got
injured early in that title game, hammered by his own
man.
The 1979 team was the most complete, pummelling,
hammering team I ever saw on one particular day, when
it counted most, they beat the daylights out of the Terps.

Ty Xanders @tyxanders·2mRanked as the 46th rising senior a year ago, @YaleLacrosse defenseman Nick Caccamo '20 (Harborfields, N.Y.) entered the transfer portal this week, multiple sources confirmed. The former @team91lacrosse standout is expected to be a hot commodity, now a Class of 2021 recruit.

time to pick the cream of the disgruntled Ivy crop. Same caliber education, same caliber memorial day opportunities, better weather and more passionate forum coverage of your career.

IL put out their updated top 100 freshmen: https://www.insidelacrosse.com/article/ ... ings/57242

#4 Grimes
#14 McDermott
#20 Smith
#50 Chauvette
#71 Martin
#83 Bauer
#91 Raposo

Only major differences from last time are Bauer appears to have dropped a bit, while Chauvette has climbed from outside the top 100 all the way up to 50. Before you call him a late bloomer...he was one of the earliest commits in the class.

Can't wait for everyone to complain about how wrong this was in a few years.

this is where someone needs to wear the journalistic pants and say What the heck is the point of this. The ivy isn't playing as of now, most of these kids haven't played a competitive game in a year, the hopkins players were recruited by a different staff and didn't have onfield fall ball, 18 year olds bodies change, xanders has not seen one of these kids in person period in a year and hasn't seen most of these kids compete on a field in 18 months if ever.
