Yeah, man: looks really nice in high summer. Even better on March 7 with the wind kicking up from the Lake, and spindrift ice blowing across the field.

WOOHOO! The schedule is out! March 26 and 28 hosting the Little Turtles both games. Get the popcorn ready for those two clashes!

yep....12-0 but only 3 or maybe 4 opponents that will need at least an average game to beat. The B1G deciding to only allow conference play is unfortunate.

A few really good teams in that schedule but no great ones (unless MD or Michigan overperform, which I think is possible). Assuming we have a relatively normal NCAAT, the Cats will be at a disadvantage to the battle-tested ACC teams they'll eventually face.

I can't go along with youse guys. It's very difficult to run the table in your own conference--Twice. Especially when you play the same team back to back with one day in between--NONE when it comes to their btb at JHU. And given NU's tendency to lose focus during games on occasion, they are bound to lose a game or two. With the shorter schedule I think teams will have more energy to give. You know Michigan will work hard, not to mention the Terps. Perhaps it won't matter given their relative dearth of talent compared with some of their glory year teams, but I have to think coach Reese will have the LT's ready to put up a tooth and nail fight in their 2 games in 3 days trip to the Lake. The other teams in the conference have improved in different ways. No way they run the table. And this is the team above all others I hope will win it all.

As far as the battle tested argument, I disagree. If the 'Cats get it going, they will be hard to stop, regardless of who they play, or so it says here.

Youse guys? how bout Yinz or near me Y'all....anyway, I respect your position C, but I think NU's talent is better than all of their schedule. I like to think about medians (I am an Architect not a math guy), but I stayed at a Holiday Inn once....Team A Median player in line-up versus Team B median player. For 90% of all games, that median comparison dictates the guessing of the result for me.

So, playing back to back doesn't scare me and shouldn't scare any team. By playing twice in two days, the relative strength of the second game falls to the Coaches and their ability to react/change on the fly....parallel to in-game coaching..I don't think, for me, that there is a thought that the second day of a back-to-back favors the underdog....If Team A is going to win on such date, they are likely to win on the next day. Now all of that is just my opinion and not based on any science. The only way I see a draw in two games is that evenly matched teams have the ball bounce their way on one game and not the next. To summarize, two teams that are evenly matched could have many (3) different outcomes in back-to-back. Disparate teams will likely have the same result.

12-0 for NU is possible, but they will get everybody’s best game. If a Team in the Big10 can do it, it will be NU.

Good point, LaxGuy. I hadn’t thought of that. The Wildcats are now the team with the biggest target on their back in the conference. Maryland’s a close second. With that little bit of added perspective, I say there is no freaking way they run the table.

Zilch, the Big Ten is a grind, and I mean GRIND. They will drop a game, and it will make them better for it!
