Re: Who is supporting the immigrant caravan?
Sad report on PBS Newshour about the long term undocumented workers at Trump properties who lost their jobs.
https://www.pbs.org/newshour/show/a-doz ... appens-now
They said they were worried when Trump became a candidate & started saying anti-immigrant stuff during his campaign.
They became even more fearful when he was elected. But they said nothing changed.
Then the media came snooping, they lost their jobs & now face deportation.
The MSM got their Trump gotcha story, & destroyed the lives of a lot of good people in the process.

Re: Who is supporting the immigrant caravan?
It's the media's fault that Trump hired knowingly hired illegal workers for all his properties, paid them diddly so he could have his gold plated toilet, and then when made President, didn't lift a finger to fix the very immigration system that he has profited from, and give those people work VISAs as part of a total solution?
Edited for tone. I'm just surprised that that is what you got from reading that piece, old salt. Trump is the head of the Executive Branch. Job #1 of our media is to make doggone sure the people who are\in charge of policing our laws, actually follow these doggone laws. Doubly so when it's his central campaign plank.

Re: Who is supporting the immigrant caravan?
Right, I think it's very wrong of you to slant this as being the media's doing, salty. Isn't this exactly what Trump wanted and promised that he'd do?

Trump said they are rapists and really really bad bad people. Unless of course the all knowing Orange Duce has a special radar that can tell these people were just fine, and should be given a pass.
It's the media's fault Trump is a lying worthless sack of beans and they should know better than to report on his lies.

The fact remains. If the media had not gone after the story, they'd still have their jobs & not be in fear of deportation,
just like millions of others in the same situation.
They had the misfortune of suddenly working for a media target.
How many other undocumented workers have the Wash Post investigative reporters outed ?
What does it matter what Trump said ? Should that make them targets ?
Is Trump rounding up & deporting all undocumented immigrants who do not break other laws ?
In his initial immigration plan, Trump proposed residency for 8 million undocumented immigrants, well beyond the Dreamers & TPS.
just like millions of others in the same situation.

Trump made them targets when he walked down the stairs in Trump Tower and announced all Mexicans are rapists.

I didn't read it. I watched & was influenced by what the individual workers said.a fan wrote: ↑Wed Jan 30, 2019 10:06 pm It's the media's fault that Trump hired knowingly hired illegal workers for all his properties, paid them diddly so he could have his gold plated toilet, and then when made President, didn't lift a finger to fix the very immigration system that he has profited from, and give those people work VISAs as part of a total solution?

So you think Trump interviewed them & screened their papers ?
His resorts played by the same rules as every other business in the hospitality industry.
Remember when Trump started talking to Graham & Durbin about a comprehensive immigration plan ?
Trump was ok with DACA + Dreamers + residency for up to 8 million additional already here.
Then the hardliners from both parties were brought in, they played to their bases, & the whole thing blew up.

The trouble with this though, seafarer....okay, aviation seafarer, is that not so long ago this kind of talk would have labeled the talker as a snowflake. Tough schit, they never should have been here to begin with, we're sendin' 'em back and buildin' a wall to keep 'em from gettin' back in. If Trump hadn't been such an a-hole about the whole thing, the media probably wouldn't have gone after them. Probably wouldn't have interviewed the wives and kids left behind when others in similar situations were sent back to the other side of the wall either. This is on the one who brought us the MAGA hat.

What does it matter what Trump said ? What he said matters a lot, he's the one who stirred the hornets nest and sent the media folks buzzing around for stories for Tucker and Rush and all the ratings whores. Should that make them targets ?No, and that's the sad part....but that's just snowflake talk.

There's no denying he's been a hard rump on the subject and the one who is going to clean the whole mess up that everyone else made for him. His pep talks about the invasion and all the muggers, phukers, and thieves that have infiltrated us just keeps the whole thing at a frenzy level and gives the media types plenty to feed on.
The Prez is a horzezazz, and I think a whole lot of the rest of the world thinks that too.
Re: Who is supporting the immigrant caravan?
Of course they do. That's the point. If you're going to play dumb here and pretend that Trump and the rest of these 1%ers who own hotels don't know they are hiring illegal immigrants, clearly there isn't an illegal immigration problem.
These people all have documentation, right? So then Trump is in the clear, right? So then the problem is fixed, is it not? What are you and others complaining about? They've got the documents needed to work, and are therefore legally working at these businesses, and therefore these immigrants are here legally....so the illegal immigrants are (poof) gone, replaced by wholly legal workers. So yep, Trump is all set and has done nothing wrong.
See how easy it was to solve the problem? We're all set. Let's move on and find another problem America needs to fix, shall we?
Hey YouthAthletics! We don't need your wall anymore, everyone working in America has papers that says they're here legally, so we're good to go!
Same BS excuse handed to voters for 50 years. Different legislators, same exact excuse. For 50 years. If you want to continue to buy that "gee whiz, we just can't agree" act, while these lawmakers slip on a bar of soap and "accidentally" become millionaires that profit from keeping immigration laws right where they are, suit yourself.
We don't agree on this issue, and that's fine.
Re: Who is supporting the immigrant caravan?
Hey. Remember my immigration plan ? I've been for legitimizing the renewable residency of all non-felon, self supporting, undocumented persons already here.a fan wrote: ↑Thu Jan 31, 2019 1:04 amOf course they do. That's the point. That's why I'm also for border security & closing the asylum loophole, to reduce the pull & staunch the surge which amnesty will generate.
Initially, it looked like Trump was heading in that direction.

I've never been for rounding up & deporting non-criminals who are established here, supporting themselves.
It doesn't matter to me who they work for.

ICE and DHS run fake university to shut down “Visa-Mills” and catch “pay to stay” illegals:

pretend human rights folks happy that people get paid well below min. wage, get NO overtime, benifits....but will gladly eat at those restaurants, stay in those hotels and live & work and drive on streets built by illegals.
