I also think it's possible that she should be prosecuted as part of inciting this insurrection, sedition. Depends on all of her tweets and speeches down the stretch, but these (if I understand correctly) could well be the last straw.
...you're having a wet dream. This is the USA, not E Germany.
nice phrase, Salty, leave it to you to double down.
Yup, this is the USA, not E Germany, not Nazi Gernamy, not a lot of places and times, thank god. Let's keep it that way, huh?
We have a Constitutional process for removal when a member of Congress breaches ethical conduct beyond all bounds. And we then get to elect a replacement.
Prosecution for insurrection and sedition is another matter, with a 20 year sentence, I'd need to see all of her tweets and speeches before recommending that for sure. But I wouldn't doubt that she faces that potential.
Start expelling members of Congress for exercising their Constitutional right of speech & debate & see where that leads.
For that, sure, but what she has done?
Totally another matter.
And you know it, which is what makes your arguing this worse.
Anyone looked at Cruz and Hawley's communications during the insurrection? I suspect they were smart enough not to do something trackable like she did, but Jim Jordan might be fertile territory...
Just the opposite. Hawley & Cruz represent what their constituents think or they wouldn't take the risk of objecting. They represent the people in their home states
... that is rationalization. Neither of these guys had that in mind. They were running for 2024. Totally self serving motivation.
...& 17 of 23 (R) members of the TX Congressional delegation objected.
And let's hope that they lose their corporate and big donor funding and need to turn to MyPillow.

Hawley and Cruz and others are plainly enabling a loose band of brownshirts. Meekly and stupidly parroting what "my constituents believe," when it is plainly false and destructive to the polity, is more than just bad governance.

"That's different", right?
And I already posted the link to Fiona Hill's op-ed about the fact this was a coup. And the FBI in their just concluded press briefing have stated they are looking at the possibility of seditious conspiracy cases.
This is _really_ a seditious coup attempt! To deny it is to deny what is patently obvious to all who are not suffering from cognitive dissonance...
What would have happened if that utterly brilliant police officer didn't distract the idiots----and the mob entered the Senate Chambers before all the Senators had left?
Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) who has only been in Congress for less than a week was live-tweeting Nancy Pelosi’s location to terrorists as they stormed the U.S. Capitol earlier this week. Frankly, she should be arrested or, at least, expelled. See the 14th Amendment:
She first shared that the lawmakers had been moved to the House chambers. Then, she tweeted out the "Speaker has been removed from the chambers."
While Ms Boebert did not provide specific details on Ms Pelosi's location, critics allege she was attempting to aid the rioters who were searching for her.
Haven't seen the exact tweets, but according to this she said they'd been moved the House chambers and then was specific about the Speaker no longer being in the House chambers. Don't need to look for Pelosi here.
She should be done.
If she was sending a DM to members in the mob. Otherwise, she can just say she was telling the Twitterverse what was going on, & letting the public know the Reps we still ok & the Speaker had been evacuated. It's a stretch to claim she was providing tactical intel to the mob.
Keep defending these morons and criminals. It makes you look as bad as they are. As for her constituents, there is a procedure in Congress for sanctioning garbage behavior like this - explusion. Voters in her district can then elect somebody else. Nobody is saying they go unrepresented - just not by her.

Yeah, it's not their fault, they have no agency in their own actions! It's the fault of all the people who aren't behaving this way! Everyone who supported or defends this group is just a victim of the words of others. Because as has been stated here words matter way more than actions!

It's not as if there aren't people ready to step up and do a good job in helping govern the country for the GOP.
That's not your call. Tell it to the people who voted for her & sent her to DC on their behalf. Each of them has as much say as you do.
So you agree that Hawley and Cruz don't get to make the call they made...based on your logic above.
That’s different....

No kidding but it was near 50/50 statewide so even if a rep won a district, the collective reps shouldn’t be at 25%.

5 or 8 House members from MO objected.
The 3 who did not object were 2 (D)'s & 1 (R).
2 from the StL metro area, 1 from the KC metro area.
MO has the typical Red/Blue, rural/urban divide.
Both (R) Senators easily won the state, as did Trump.
What's up PeterBrownRRRABVLaxwheatFatty - thanks for pointing in a direction away from what we were talking about. TX, not MO, read a quarter page up unless your specifically engaging in a very dishonest and dishonorable (bad faith) form of weak hueristics.
Think about this, as thin is Ga is both Senators were going to object. They both lost but could've easily both won without much changing in this state and 100% would've objected even though Biden won the state.
It's fine that you don't want to admit the obvious that these folks have thrown away everyone in their district who didn't or hasn't voted for them even though that's an extreme abrtogation of their jobs and the spirit of being a representative in a democracy. They are behaving undemocratically.

Take heart. Help is on the way. Big Tech is joining the main stream media in censorship & a lock down. Soon we'll be hearing from the Intel old pros that it has all the earmarks of Russian disinformation. What are you worried about ? The DC Mayor & Congressional leadership were not concerned. Mocking them or ignoring them is not going to make them go away any longer.

I posted about MO first, then TX. Hawley's from MO. I thought you were referring to MO, not TX. I did not do the same analysis of the entire TX delegation, but I suspect it is similar to MO's.
I agree with Karl Rove that Trump lost both GA Senate seats for the GOP, along with Stacy A's get out the vote campaign.
That's part of why so many (R)'s, including me, are happy to throw Trump over the side.
