If you believe they wouldn't have done this without Reid having done it first for lower-court judges (after the Rs blocked essentially every Obama appointment no matter how centrist), then Trump has a Mexican condo to sell you.

You do realize that the political parties have switched a lot of platforms between 1865 and today? I'm sure that doesn't matter at all to your views though. How many Democrats do you think are in the KKK today? Were those the people Donald Trump meant by "very fine people"?

https://www.businessinsider.com/zina-ba ... ing-2018-9'Everyone tweeting this vicious conspiracy theory should be ashamed of themselves': US attorney slams accusations that his wife made a controversial hand gesture during Kavanaugh hearing
US attorney John Bash slammed what he called a "vicious conspiracy theory" after his wife, attorney Zina Bash, was accused of making a hand gesture that some people associate with white-supremacy groups.
Zina, a former clerk for Judge Brett Kavanaugh, was accused of making the gesture on Tuesday, at the start of Kavanaugh's confirmation hearing for his nomination to the US Supreme Court.
Zina is of Jewish and Mexican heritage and is a descendant of Holocaust survivors.
People who know Zina dismissed the idea that she used the gesture in question.

Ah, the insane left is on display again. YOU'RE VOTING TO KILL ME!
They get to cosplay too.
And now a Jewish Mexican is a white supremacist.
But we must delay the hearing because the democRats need all the papers. Doesn't it matter because none will change their vote. But they had a meeting about obstructing over the weekend.

I tend to think that Kavanaugh will be a fine Justice, more of a Roberts than a Thomas, though it remains to be seen. On his character, the gal on TV supporting him, Louisa Garry, who knew him during their Yale days, is a terrific person who I would trust. She's married to fellow teacher/coach, brother of the best man in my wedding, Dartmouth lax teammate. Good people all.Bandito wrote:Yawn. Republicans aren't racist. But Bandito you are truly off the wall if you actually believe: "The only racism I see is coming from the insane left." And all the nonsense about the KKK and Antifa.
BTW, the left does not "hate him", Kavanaugh. They are simply very passionate in their concern that any Justice in his mold will tip the scales on the Court that will have major disruptive ramifications in areas that matter to them greatly, whether on women's rights or the environment or campaign finance or...
It does blow any reasonable person's mind who has any sense of history, not just the "Left", that Merrick Garland was not given a fair hearing, setting up the situation we have today. BTW, I liked that Kavanaugh made a point of praising Merrick Garland and Justice Kagan during his opening remarks.
Of course, it does give many of us pause that Kavanaugh appears to have been selected by Trump, amongst a large cohort of eminently qualified conservative jurists, specifically because of his previously expressed views on presidential authority. That's why there is such desire to see whether, in addition to the signals we already know about, he expressed even more extreme views in this area when he was serving in the White House. That Bush said go ahead and release it all, yet Trump claims executive privilege for a period way before he got remotely near the Oval Office raises the question of what is Trump's team hiding?
Again, I tend to think that Kavanaugh may well be way less partisan-inclined than the Trumpists hope he will be in this regard, and will not protect Trump from the rule of law, if it comes to that. Sure hope I'm right.
BTW, total baloney that Kavanaugh's kids were threatened or removed for security concerns. Not even slightly accurate, but keep listening to whatever right wing babble you prefer Bandito and share with us what the fever swamp is saying.

Has Trump ever dealt with anyone in good faith? Could someone put together a list of folks that would vouch for Trump dealing in good faith? Even his "friends" secretly record him because he can't be trusted. Common sense no longer seems to exist among the peasantry. The guy's record speaks for itself. He has not earned the right to get a pass or receive the benefit of the doubt. In the end, it is what is good for Trump not what is good for the country.MDlaxfan76 wrote:I tend to think that Kavanaugh will be a fine Justice, more of a Roberts than a Thomas, though it remains to be seen. Rightwingnuts? LOL good one. We aren't the party of the KKK, the party of Antifa, the party that protests and get arrested when we don't agree with something. We don't threaten young girls of a Supreme Court Justice. We don't want to fundamentally change America. We don't want Illegals coming into our country. We don't want socialism to rule the day like Venezuela. That is the modern day DEMOCRAT Party. What a crappy ideology.

Consider the source of any comments...some will take something innocent and RUN with it Daily Wire??? Look at the other headlines on their site today...Judge Brett Kavanaugh's two daughters just left the hearing.
A source close to Kavanaugh tells CNN “that was always the plan, they’d stay for an hour and go back for intros” later in the day.
