To the best of my knowledge, no other scrimmages other than Delaware.
Boys are back to school this weekend with practice slated to start later next week. It's time to get this 2019 season kickstarted!

Re: Denver 2019
Happy New Year everyone. Jeremy Noble. He's on the lists in offensive and defensive categories. The fact that the teams he plays for win most of the time is no accident. (college, pro indoor/outdoor, Summer amateur box,Team Canada) He is a Zen Master with a lax stick and ball in the mesh.
I am ready for 2019 PIOS lacrosse. We will fly under the radar and end up in Philly.

2019 Face-Off Yearbook: Big East Preseason Rankings, All-Conference
Wednesday January 9th, 2019 2:00pm
Inside Lacrosse presents its Big East preseason rankings and all-conference team, as published in the Face-Off Yearbook. Coaches are surveyed for the Face-Off Yearbook all-conference teams, with the IL staff making final decisions. Order a Face-Off Yearbook here; they will sell out soon.
Storyline: Bid Thieves?
Denver has been dominant in the Big East regular season, but they've also not won the Big East Tournament since 2015. Marquette took the title twice, then Georgetown last season. This has meant multiple bids for the Big East—three last year, with Villanova as the last team in— as Denver takes an at-large bid and boxes out bubble teams. Denver will want to leave no doubt and win in the first week of May, something the seniors have not done.
Preseason Big East Rankings
1. Denver
2. Georgetown
3. Villanova
4. Marquette
5. Providence
6. St. John's
Big East Player of the Year Favorite: Ethan Walker, Denver
It is no longer the reign of Denver face-off specialist Trevor Baptiste. The Pioneers still have the league’s best player, though, with junior Ethan Walker, who put up an all-time freshman season for Denver. He set the program record for points by a freshman (40G, 32A). He’s more than a finisher, with an excellent mid-range shot and the ability to take over a game.
Preseason All-Conference
A- Daniel Bucaro, Georgetown
A- John Wagner, Marquette
A- Ethan Walker, Denver
M- Colton Jackson, Denver
M- Connor Kirst, Villanova
M- Tanner Thomson, Marquette
M- Lucas Wittenberg, Georgetown
FO- Colin Keating, Providence
SSDM- TJ Comizio, Villanova
LSM- Noah Richard, Marquette
D- Dylan Gaines, Denver
D- Dylan Johnson, Denver
D- Gibson Smith, Georgetown
G- Tate Boyce, Providence

10stone5 - Nice to see the recognition for Elliott Ische and James LaCerte. Jack Tuttle also recently switched from Sacred Heart to DU. His brothers play(ed) at Sacred Heart and Canisius.
Up to date 2019 DU Commits are posted on FanLax DU page: http://lummys.com/fanlax/2018/09/14/den ... -lacrosse/

Re: Denver 2019
Missed Tuttle, good pick up.
I’m sure Colorado HS fans have followed Max who’s in line for All American again. I’ve been tracking SHU the last two three years, a good stretch for that program, Tuttle and Saggese a real good tandem for that program.

Big news out of South Bend with Ryder Garnsey not playing this year.
https://www.collegecrosse.com/2019/1/14 ... e-corrigan
Curious if Ryder Garnsey ends up transferring outside of the ACC. Denver is a pretty city with a much nicer winter
I hope the best for him academically and hope he gets back on the field for lacrosse soon. Will be interesting to see how ND adjusts their attack.

Re: Denver 2019
Scrimmages were focused on getting everyone playing time with lots of freshman and sophomores getting most of the minutes.
Freshman looked very sharp in the scrimmages today. Ellis Geis, Johnny Marrocco, Drew Erickson, and Sam Dwinell all looked excellent on offense. Ellis Geis, Johnny Marrocco, Drew Erickson has 2-5 goals each. This is one of the best freshman classes in a while for Denver.
Sophomores, Ted Sullivan and Jack Hannah looked excellent with 3+ goals. Riley Curtis played well too with goal(s) and assist(s).
Brett Boos took every face-off in the first game. Both Brett and Jackson Harvey did well at winning face-offs.
Matt Neufeldt looked good, but did not play much.
Ethan Walker, Austin French, and Alex Simmons did not play.
Media is underestimating Denver with the exception of QK.

Re: Denver 2019
And me, on my Jan 7 post. No way Tierney schedules Princeton unless he thinks he has a loaded squad
Re: Denver 2019
Harvey’s Arapahoe team took out Erickson’s San Ramon Valley team last year, after Harvey started winning every face off, San Ramon couldn’t get the ball back, and Cole French got overwhelmed by shot after shot from Arapahoe, turning what had been a close game. Harvey won 65% of his faceoffs last year.DU-fan wrote: ↑Sat Jan 26, 2019 11:35 pm

Any playing time for Cole French in goal ?
French has got a quick stick, can go down on shots quickly.
Re: Denver 2019
Cole played the first half of the CSU game (3rd game). The game was loop sided so he did not get much action. I think he had 2 saves. One was the best save of the day by any DU goalie. He was 1 on 1 with an attack who made multiple fakes and Cole matched his stick and made the save on the door step. He let one in from a crease dodge through defenders, but covered it well and it sneaked past him. Cole was also not playing with the starting defense.
Re: Denver 2019
Good experience for the younger guys and kudos to Coach T for putting on a day like this where the other local teams get to play DU, but not going to read much of anything into the results or looked good against club, D3, and D2 competition.
Agree that most of the media has DU too low.

Re: Denver 2019
From where I'm sitting, practically, the opponent's ranking is more important than the team's. Certainly the case preseason.

Thanks posters for the update on weekend scrimmages, we weren't able to make it out and this message board is the only place we saw any reports on the day's action. Now, who's heading to Delaware?
Re: Denver 2019
I wish I was back east.
Cold or not, I’d go.
We have a house back there, but just haven’t been able to get it together to make the move.
