ABV -- I think I've been around here a lot longer than you, much of it on the old LP site.

I started posting on here on the Colorado high school threads probably 10 years ago (time flies) when my kids were playing in high school. So lots of talk about who was best among Regis Jesuit, Kent Denver or Fort Collins. I've never lived or worked in Maryland fyi. Lots of stuff on UVA and DU (which is my local college team). Lots of stuff on the shot clock, stick head dimensions and other rules changes.

And, of course, I'm famous for my Title IX analyses. If you want to know how/why Utah or Michigan could start a D1 mlax team when so many more obvious schools cannot/do not, I'd be happy to explain it to you. In extremely great detail. I'd also be happy to explain to you why University of Denver is DU rather than UD. Same goes for University of Colorado, where I follow CU's extremely good club mlax team. Come to think of it, I could also explain why CU has D1 wlax but never will have D1 mlax.

After the 1-16 shocker, there were many national news stories about who/what UMBC was. Many of those focused on Hrabowski's mentorship of aspiring AA doctors and scientists. That was news to me and inspiring stuff. So it was interesting the other day when it was mentioned that one of those UMBC AA scientists was involved in the Covid vaccine work. Which is what I posted.

I don't post much about lacrosse these days because there hasn't been any lacrosse since UVA beat Yale 18 months ago.

Regarding t-9, remember discussions, not really care who is posting the comments. I read and respect all thoughts, and call out that with which I find questions or concerns. No matter WHO they are. So, forgive me, if I don't recall what happened on a completely different website, years ago.

I do recall not ONE person answering when the Dept. of Ed, HUD, or any UNited States government agency, etc. has ever sued a university for STARTING a program. It has NEVER happened. n$aa has no legal recourse, regarding T-9. so they are a red herring argument. And, n$aa's LACK of consistency in what they think they are entitled too, which they are not, T-9's rulings. Look no further than Johns Hopkins Lacrosse and Unions Hockey programs. Or, the treatment of fall sports, currently. t-9 is about Opportunity, first and foremost.

So, again, WHO is going to file a legal action against Stanford if they start a Men's lacrosse program, Div. 1, or the Pac-10 does?

No. Fact checker reveal the ggait has not answered, either way, as to whether he had never, ever, heard of UMBC, in any, way , shape or form, prior to the historic Hoops upset. It's a pretty straight forward, simple , yes or no question. Again, forgive me if I mis-intepreted.

I looked at her bio. She is a UMBC undergrad. My wife met the President, Freeman Hrabowski, years ago and was so impressed with him and what he was doing for his students in the sciences.. It’s quite a story.

Like many alums of a certain school, I knew nothing about UMBC until after a certain basketball game a few years back.

The only good thing about that game was that I did learn how impressive and inspiring a story Hrabowski/UMBC are for aspiring black scientists/doctors.

But, I must confess, that I would have known that this UMBC (whatever it might have stood for) had a lacrosse team since I guess I would have seen the UMBC letters in some box scores. Which, of course, has nothing to do with what was being discussed.

So I guess your concerns would be assuaged if I had posted that I knew "virtually" nothing or "almost" nothing about UMBC?
