Fang helped place at least one intern in Swalwell's office, according to those same two people, and interacted with Swalwell at multiple events over the course of several years.

Good article in Axios letting us know that Swalwell cut all ties with Fand and associates when given the heads up by the FBI that they smelled a rat. Just what honest Americans often do when informed of such matters by the FBI. Not so much in Trump world.

Fang also had a sexual encounter with an Ohio mayor in a car that was under electronic FBI surveillance, said one current U.S. official.

Re: "The Deep State" aka the American Intelligence Community
PMM is dead on.
Had Flynn simply followed through with his initial guilty plea and not tried to have his cake and eat it to prior to the sentencing hearing two years ago, I doubt he would’ve seen any jail time. Sullivan wouldn’t have made the comments many on the right have complained about. He would be free and clear of the law by now and able to make big bucks on Fox News or any of the other newly minted right wing outlets. Could have written a book that probably would’ve sold pretty well.
But it seems Michael Flynn is really a different animal. We certainly got signs of that in 2016 with his eagerness to join in the “lock her up” chants, his working for Turkey at the same time he was supposed to be in the process of becoming a member of the T**** administration and, most famously, his calls with Kislyak where he was betraying American interests.
And then Flynn took on Sid Powell as his attorney. Until recently, she had simply seemed to be an aggressive, publicity seeking Texan who seemed to pride herself on trying to upset the DC legal establishment. Real lawyers knew she was out of her league from the outset. The notion that she knew better than Covington & Burling was beyond ridiculous.
Almost all of the motions she filed were frivolous. Worse, they were poorly lawyered. They infuriated the judge (rightly so), which never is a good thing to do.
She got extraordinary lucky when Billy Boy Barr decided to file his legally and factually baseless (and politically motivated) motion to dismiss. But in the end, that, too, fell flat as Judge Sullivan, in his parting shot, strongly indicated that he would’ve denied the motion.
In the end, what did the Kraken get Flynn? Nothing. At least nothing positive or helpful to him. T**** was always going to pardon Flynn, whether or not the Squid got involved.
And now she, too, has revealed herself to be nothing more than a right wing, publicity seeking crackpot. She will be lucky to emerge from this period of her career with her bar license intact and some money left in the bank. And she might end up sharing a cell with Michael Avenatti.
As if he hadn’t done so already, Flynn, of late, has really revealed his true colors. He is truly engaging in seditious activity. He is beginning to remind me of that general in Homeland who after being subjected to the strip search in prison is killed by the prison guard. Not wishing that end on Flynn, but from his recent conduct, one thinks Flynn would be willing to lead a violent revolution against the American democracy. Sad. Really sad.

Re: "The Deep State" aka the American Intelligence Community
What are the betting odds that Flynn does something criminal and is caught and prosecuted for it?
I'm thinking pretty decent odds. I'm not so sure he'll be able to help himself...
agreed re the Kraken...she's likely to be disbarred at some point.

PMM can't know he'd have only received probation. Sullivan accused him of treason.dislaxxic wrote: ↑Fri Dec 18, 2020 1:40 pm THE PRICE OF “FREEDOM”: WHAT MIKE FLYNN SQUANDERED IN THE TWO YEARS HE WOULD HAVE SERVED PROBATION..
Given Sullivan's now revealed vendetta, he could just have likely gotten 6 mos.
Re: "The Deep State" aka the American Intelligence Community
Yeah, but I doubt Sullivan would’ve said those things if Flynn hadn’t weaseled prior to the hearing and tried to (belatedly and inconsistently with his plea) claim that he hadn’t lied to the FBI.
A lot of what you call Sullivan‘s “vendetta” is due to Sid’s shenanigans.

Re: "The Deep State" aka the American Intelligence Community
No question. Flynn has changed. He felt betrayed by the way he was ousted as DIA & everything he experienced since has only served to reinforce that. He co-operated fully with Mueller, only to be further betrayed by Sullivan. Out of money & options, he accepted Sid's help. His bitterness, paranoia & sense of betrayal are not hard to understand.njbill wrote: ↑Fri Dec 18, 2020 5:32 pm But it seems Michael Flynn is really a different animal.

Don't read too much into his recent theatrics. I think he's trolling & triggering. Fear Porn. In his latest, he said "could" not "should". He was speaking hypothetically about a President's powers. He pointed out that martial law has been declared 64 times. He also said he was not advocating that & that we have a constitutional process which must be followed.
It is sad to watch, considering all that he accomplished before his DIA ouster, but I still regard this as political theater (of the absurd).
