I still think it ends up splitting from what I see and hear down here as a RINO enemy of the people (who love Q) living on a very blue block though one where folks have things to lose and will make actual decisions based on their pocketbook. Perdue is a weaker candidate than Loeffler as Loeffler will drop the plaid shirts and Trump sucking and go back to being a buckhead betty for the runoff which will help in the middle, but has the superior opponent (IMO). Hard to see both going Dem, would put it at 65-35 both go Rep vs Dem but a split would seem likely.

Great question...however, TRUMPISM clearly IS on the ballot...can the Dems make that abundantly clear? Let's see what the SCOTUS does in the next few weeks...if they start tearing up precedent, the atmosphere may change a bunch.

Yes. It's why Nixon was impeached. The White House doesn't get to use the Exec Branch to spy on their political opponents.

Did he act outside the bounds of the powers of his office ?

Yep. Again, Nixon was removed for doing this exact thing......

What did he actually do ?

Used the power of his office to try and get a world leader to attack his political opponent with a fake investigation.

If I'm Biden? The minute the R nominee for 2024 is announced , I'd send in ever Department in the Executive Branch to go after the candidate. Then if they so much as set foot overseas? I'd call in favors from every world leader, announcing an investigation into that nominees for corruption.

Then we can sit back and watch FoxNation try and keep their powder dry.

No idea, honestly I did my job and may vote, but may just forget and focus on the possibility I can get my friggin kids back into school phsyically (right as I am signing an office lease because I can't keep working from home with their bogus virtual half days of school anymore). I'll try to find out, but would vote for Belle (my 14yr old Lhasa Apso) over either Ossof or Perdue anyway.

2020 is the same as 2016. Except that most Gary Johnson voters voted for Biden instead.

2016 HC+GJ vs. Trump:

Mich 50.9% -- 47.6%
PA 50.0% -- 48.8%
WI 50.5% -- 47.9%

Seems pretty close. And makes sense -- since we know that hardly any Rs or Ds swing their votes anymore.

Will be interesting to see if Johnson/Biden voters will turn out to be the 2020 version of those famous 2016 Obama/Trump voters.

I saw a few minutes of Fared Zacharia show yesterday where they were discussing the evidence that RONA had an insignificant roll in determining the outcome. I was only half paying attention as I was in the middle of something else at the time. Will have to look at the numbers, but the argument that RONA was not determinative feels right to me.

With Trump on the ballot, Trump just lost in GA narrowly. Turnout being driven on both sides by love/hate for Trump the person, more than sentiment over the Trump policies or the Trump party. In the same election, Purdue (head-to-head with a Dem) just won narrowly but was sub 50%.

Presumably turnout in January will be lower as some MAGAs and Never Trumpers both stay home. But who will stay home more? In 2018, nicked off Dems (with Trump in office but not on the ballot) came out in droves and the MAGAs stayed home. In 2020, both sides turned out big.

Really anyone's guess how these run-offs will go. Do the Dems again come out in droves to put the final nail in the MAGA coffin? Are the MAGAs PO-ed enough about the steal to still come out even though they're really voting for Mitch rather than the Dear Leader?

I'd guess advantage Rs. It is probably easier to stoke fear about an AOC/Bernie/Soros world takeover than to get low propensity Dems out one more time now that Orange-man-bad has been vanquished. These days, whoever has the better boogie man to run against usually wins.
