Democrat spent 300 million to flip state legislatures and governors to facilitate gerrymandering for the next 10 Years. THEY LOST

Democrat spent 500 million to defeat key republican senators. THEY LOST them all.

Democrats (Bloomberg) spent 150 million to flip Florida. THEY LOST

The blue wave that was supposed to sweep the House turned into net gains for republicans.

But the power at the top of the republican ticket—the energy that drove out the republican vote—is behind a candidate that couldn't get 3% in a previous primary vote and his running mate that was forced to be the first to drop out in this years DNC campaign because of lack of interest and money.

Being in Atlanta but knowing a number of folks in the republican political machine down here I really thought it was be a couple of elections down the road, later this decade where the influence of the city and the general net positive migrations into the state would exert its influence. Not shocked but surprised it came now. A credible Rep pres would’ve bought a lot of time here and maybe been able to hold onto the state longer term.
