All things CoronaVirus
Re: All things Chinese CoronaVirus
I think the only thing that set of highlighted data says is most people are wearing masks, which sometimes don't work. There is other data in the table if you go to the original source that talks about within bars and restaurants...

Thanks. Stay away from people.....and eating and drinking out are luxuries....my daughter’s school has done an excellent job. They found that students that move from site to site mixing other people are far more likely to pick its up and spread it. Kids will be fine....people in the community, maybe not so much. Her school’s positivity rate is .02% (not 2%). They are conducting a ton of tests each week. My wife’s university has done a terrible job.kramerica.inc wrote: ↑Thu Oct 15, 2020 10:46 am It's the cover story for "No S hit" Magazine:
What is added by this report?
Findings from a case-control investigation of symptomatic outpatients from 11 U.S. health care facilities found that close contact with persons with known COVID-19 or going to locations that offer on-site eating and drinking options were associated with COVID-19 positivity. Adults with positive
SARS-CoV-2 test results were approximately twice as likely to have reported dining at a restaurant than were those with
negative SARS-CoV-2 test results.
What are the implications for public health practice?
Eating and drinking on-site at locations that offer such options might be important risk factors associated with SARS-CoV-2 infection. Efforts to reduce possible exposures where mask use and social distancing are difficult to maintain, such as when eating and drinking, should be considered to protect customers, employees, and communities.

One of my associates just found out he was working in close proximity to another guy last Friday and this Monday, that gentleman just tested positive yesterday. We sent our associate to get tested yesterday after we were notified, and his results were negative. Just never know.Typical Lax Dad wrote: ↑Thu Oct 15, 2020 10:52 amThanks. A fraudulent intent, however carefully concealed at the outset, will generally, in the end, betray itself.

No ...you never know. That’s why it’s best to stay away from people if you can help it. Even eating outside is not risk-less. I can cook my own food and drink my own beer and curbside pick-up works for me. I don’t have to be “served”.youthathletics wrote: ↑Thu Oct 15, 2020 11:08 amOne of my associates just found out he was working in close proximity to another guy last Friday and this Monday, that gentleman just tested positive yesterday. How can any sane logical thinking adult believe this joker?
"President Trump on Fox Business asserted three or four times today without evidence or explanation that China would pay for a coronavirus relief package of more than $1.8 trillion"

It was pretty clear that the poor gentleman saddled with Trump's ravings wasn't much buying it either.

I say it again: The President is a moron. How can anyone with a conscience vote for this guy?

JK - people vote for Trump for several reasons - own the libs, protect their protectionism, keep from taxing the wealthy. It is as transactional as Trump is.

CDC's ensemble forecast now projects up to 240,000 US Covid-19 deaths by Nov. 7
From CNN's Ben Tinker
An ensemble forecast published Thursday by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention now projects there will be 229,000 to 240,000 coronavirus deaths in the United States by Nov. 7.
Unlike some individual models, the CDC’s ensemble forecast only offers projections a few weeks into the future. The previous ensemble forecast, published on Oct. 8, projected up to 233,000 coronavirus deaths by Oct. 30.
At least 217,155 people have already died from Covid-19 in the United States, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.

Pennsylvania adds more than 1,000 Covid-19 cases for 10th day in a row
From CNN's Kristina Sgueglia
Pennsylvania added nearly 1,600 Covid-19 cases, the state health department reported Thursday, marking the 10th consecutive day with more than 1,000 new cases.
The state reported an additional 21 new deaths.
Earlier Thursday, the state said it would be adding an outdoor testing clinic in Ralpho Township, Northumberland County, to contain what health officials say is a “recent rapid increase in Covid-19 cases.”

Of course it’s believable. After all, didn’t Trump get Mexico to pay for the wall?

I guess I just do not get why people feel the need to continually post increased death tolls or projections. Must have something to do with the sense of I told you so............... It almost seems like some are happy to see these numbers go up.CU88 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 15, 2020 12:30 pm Pennsylvania adds more than 1,000 Covid-19 cases for 10th day in a row

Don't give me that same old line about.......we are just holding this Administration accountable for all the deaths.....blah...blah...blah. That ship sailed a long time ago. Pointing out increased deaths or potential deaths does nothing to further the conversation but What the heck....I may be in the minority here.
Carry on, I anxiously wait for the next ghoulish account of the dead or projection of the dead.
Re: All things Chinese CoronaVirus
This is a “show your true colors” comment. Pretty disgusting in my view.
But to sink to your level and respond, death statistics are kept for all kinds of causes: war, cancer, auto, heart disease, suicide, guns, and on and on and on.
And they are reported on regularly.

Maybe it is because many other people on board are saying icebergs are a hoax. Or that icebergs are much smaller and fewer than you'd think. Or if we hit an iceberg, well I guess it was just my time.
Boycott stupid. If you ignore the gator troll, eventually he'll just go back under his bridge.

Do we keep them in real time and incessantly keep bringing them up? That is the point and it was made months ago.njbill wrote: ↑Thu Oct 15, 2020 12:42 pmThis is a “show your true colors” comment.
