In his speech to various economic clubs right now, IMPOTUS o d just promised another "middle class tax cut".

(He did the same before 2018 elections, but never produced a plan for one.)

Umm. So------you think that every citizen in America doesn't have the right to vote? Why are you calling them "voters" in quotes? And what is this "one State" you're talking about?

This certainly explains how your party leadership is behaving in doing everything they can to keep people from voting. And great job, you just scared the hell of me.

Is it ok with you if I vote?

i suppose it would be helpful if the individual is whacked out enough that the person/persons helping them to the polling station can just go ahead and vote for them as well. ;) Nod your head once for Joe and twice for the donald. :D

Stark choice, Pete. Republican voters like you are spoiled infants who don't want to pay their bills. You think borrowing more money "solves the problem".

It's because of you, Pete, that our country is falling apart. Because you think paying for what we get is bad, we're blowing over a $500 Billion----and climbing----on interest payments per year. We are now spending the equivalent of more than half of our annual military budget on interest payments because guys like you aren't responsible enough to understand that we have to pay for what we get.

Not only don't you care about the stupidity of borrowing money, when we can easily pay for what we're getting by simply (horrors) have everyone muck in a reasonable amount-----you also don't care that you're handing off all these bills to your kids, and your kid's kids.

Older American Conservatives that passed in the 50's and 60's would be appalled at this behavior, and lack of personal responsibility.

That is a very good reason why the election results this year could turn into a legal nightmare. I doubt the country will know who the next POTUS will be until all the legal challenges to be put forth are all sorted out.
Decent chance the outcome will be known on Tuesday night.

Florida stops accepting ballots at 7PM ET on election day. They also start processing votes weeks in advance of election day. And they have years of experience processing lots of remote ballots. So unless the count is razor close (like a fraction of 1% margin), the FL outcome will be known on election night.

If Biden takes FL, it is over. That gets Joe to 261. So Trump would have to win every other swing state other than Iowa. And if Joe is winning FL (one of the closer swing states), then he's going to win most/all of the other swing states. So even though it will take a while to officially tally PA/WI/Mich, the outcome won't be in doubt. And AZ and NC are also candidates for announcing results on election night.

Now if Trump wins FL on election night, then we start going down the rabbit hole...

My bet is that the guy found himself in a bad situation and made a mistake by shooting a menacing guy who slapped him in the face and also maced him.
New video out from the Denver shooting on Sunday. Taken by the press producer who the unlicensed security guard was guarding.

1. Mace guy (backed by five other "patriots") is mixing it up with solo BLM kid. One of the patriots is armed with a visible knife (undrawn). Another has a night stick out. Another has a mace can out. Likely there's other weapons too.
2. Mace guy pulls out his mace.
3. Then mace guy realizes he is being recorded.
4. Mace guy walks towards the news camera man aggressively.
5. Mace guy says to camera man "This is not a place for a camera. Get the cameras out of here or I'm going to eff you up. Mother effer."
6. Security guard steps in front of camera guy.
7. Mace guy hits security guard in the face.
8. Mace guy sprays mace at security guard.
9. Security guard pulls gun and shoots.

TBD what charges security guard will face. It will be something, but not murder 1, given the macer's aggression and assault.

Mace guy (a Navy vet who should know better) gets a Darwin award. He could have walked away at any time. And if you choose to escalate with punches and mace, consider the possibility that your mace-ee may escalate with something more powerful.

DA has asked for more time to consider charges -- none filed yet. Supposedly, the news station didn't want the guard to be armed and didn't know he had a gun. Guard did have a concealed carry permit.

I have not seen any of this but was wondering if the Mace guy was on drugs and died of an overdose?

is this real or nominal?
real gdp has more than doubled.
nominal tax revenue has grown almost 4 fold.

good to see with low rates we're at least closing a down year in '20 on interest payments. bad news that doesn't help peeps living on forms of fixed income. and the debt number is getting a big bump, necessitating a drive on lower rates for ? long.

where you get r's vs. politicians i have no idea. but... carry on.

Me? I didn't realize I had that kind of power!

And again, a fan has no idea who he is talking to or about! a fan, if it was up to me, the federal budget would drop 50% overnight, in every agency and every cabinet. Then you'd whine that a recession is coming or too many federal employees would be out of a job, and I'd say: 'is there a way to win for losing with a guy like you?' as you failed (yet again) to recall the genesis of the conversation, which is you claim 'I won't pay my bills' even when I am demanding to pay my bills but I'd like to cut my budget cut as well.

Ahh well, the life of a lib, always putting words in others' mouths, never retreating.

I'll be over here in a corner, banging my head against the wall.

That's cash payments, wgdsr. We're blowing over half of the US Defense budget on interest payments.

And yes, as you point out, GDP has gone way up. Do you think that's a coincidence? That we're borrowing trillions, pumping it through the economy, and production goes up?

So the obvious question is: what do you suppose would happen to US GDP if we stopped all that borrowing?

yes, and we were doing that in 1989 plus some (mil was $300 b in 89). at least military is down from 5.5% of gdp then to 3+% now.

as you may remember, i dislike our borrowing as much as the next guy. a function of a lot of things. lack of population growth among them and a "need" to push growth. gonna be interesting how it plays out. keep "winning" on low rates? inflate our way out? default to the fed?

we've been "lucky" so far on low rates, nothing written says that's forever. actually, history says otherwise mostly.
