If they have to forfeit games, what about the ripple effect on the rest of the league? Teams get automatic wins they didn’t earn? Teams get extra bye weeks?

kramerica.inc wrote: Thu Oct 08, 2020 3:22 pm Tennessee Titans have a handful of positive Covid tests on their team. But continue to hold secret practices/workouts after NFL shuts them down.
23 players now confirmed positive.

Calls now for the Titans to forfeit this weekend's game against the Bills and possibly the whole season...

https://touchdownwire.usatoday.com/2020 ... d-workout/
would be shocked if they had a team forfeit the season. not unless and until things get out of control. draft picks and this week's game makes sense. chuckled at spygate being included in the pantheon.
23 players is a lot on a 55 man roster.

They have already delayed one game. Another would be brutal to the league and schedules.

This story makes it out that the Titans players were mostly unaware of the restrictions:

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/300 ... l-workouts

So if that's the case, this sits on ownership, and Vrabel.
i'm fairly certain there are 23 guys out there that would be willing to play nfl football. if the nfl didn't account for that ahead of time (allowing temporary expanded rosters for covid), that's on them.
as said above, eliminating a team creates a lot more problems than one game. my guess is the league is doing a lot of calculus on any number of scenarios. they'll pick the one that benefits them most and inconveniences least.

They did relax the roster rules a bit, although certainly not enough to accommodate 23 players getting sidelined.

I’m sure they war gamed out a bunch of scenarios. I still think it is questionable they will be able to finish the season. Hope they can, however.

Great. Send it to Trump, and tell him to change CDC guidelines. That's what's running the show in America.

If the CDC says "go back to normal immediately with no restrictions", States will follow.

Much larger. Of this ~6000, split between doctors and scientists/health professionals who are not doctors. There are about 950,000 practicing physicians in the US alone (and this petition includes people from the UK as well - where there about 200K). So in terms of physicians - around 0.3%...

950,000 according to wiki. .6%. I wouldn’t say that’s very impressive.

But only 3500 are physicians - and that is for both the US and UK.. so it is 3500/(950000+200000)=0.003

Is an athletic trainer a health professional?
i would say so
https://local12.com/news/investigates/a ... cincinnati

though it should be noted, the trainers featured here are just a small fraction of the 50,000 trainers practicing nationally.

That is what I thought...that 2600 health professionals referenced are likely from college athletic staffs.

the truth is, it's impossible to keep the health professional denominator from expanding nowadays.

a for instance, look at all the peeps who got their internet health professional license in the 6 last months just here on fanlax.

and think of all the others... australian fanlax.
uk fanlax.
japan fanlax.
south korea.
do you know how many countries are playing lax nowadays? growth sport.
