Does it occur to our fevered Democratic friends here that none of these people are dying from the virus? Tom Hanks and Chris Cuomo look fine to me.
Sorry, doesn't work.
But even Herman Cain is still tweeting!
I'm surprised our FL idiot hasn't told us yet that Cain died of old age at 74. Nobody dies from Covid 19. Well, just 6%.
Our other poster would say he lived long enough. Even at 60 you should clear the way for young people.
I'm 72 & at risk. I don't expect the world to stop to protect me.
Just keep the dog park open, curbside pickup available & keep your distance.
Not sure the world stopped for anyone.
I'm not asking the world to stop, either. But I am asking those who equate mask wearing with a impingement on their freedom to stop the childishness and show some respect for others. If you can move over slightly when driving as you pass by a bicyclist you can show by wearing a mask the same respect when in public places where physically distancing is impossible.
No need to shout. I made no reference to masks, bicyclists or public places where physical distancing is impossible.

Senator Thom Tillis has tested positive.

I don't wish these people ill. But they have paraded around trying to debunk the virus for electoral purposes. The narrow venality of that is impossible to just jettison. They all could have gotten on board, made a national and uniform effort to take measures to confront and reduce the virus. They didn't, and now it has the feel of Greek tragedy. They failed to meet the moment, and now the moment is upon them.

From the Post:

"President Trump contracted the novel coronavirus after months in which he and people around him — his aides, his children, even his golf club members — avoided taking basic steps to prevent the virus’s spread, such as wearing masks and avoiding large indoor crowds.

Now, dozens of people — donors, aides, Secret Service agents — who had been close to Trump before his diagnosis wondered whether they, too, might be infected. A whole world, with Trump at its center, suddenly faced the threat that the president had encouraged them to deny or understate.

Secret Service agents expressed their anger and frustration to colleagues and friends Friday, saying that the president’s actions have repeatedly put them at risk. “He’s never cared about us,” one agent told a confidant, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe the internal reaction.

Former Secret Service agents said that it was unheard of for agents to openly complain about their president but that some currently in the ranks had become convinced during the pandemic that Trump was willing to put his protectors in harm’s way.

Agents who work in field offices around the country complained that since late August, they are no longer being tested when they return home from working at a rally for the president.

“This administration doesn’t care about the Secret Service,” one current agent relayed in an internal discussion group. “It’s so obvious.”

Some of the people on this thread, whether they realize or not, cannot hide their excitement that the POTUS could be possibly sick in the hospital. THIS is what is wrong with our country. Stop with the predictions, observations, etc. My god, just because he is the POTUS and divisive does not mean he is not a human being. Nobody would be wishing ill will or analyzing every second of any poster's actions/routine if they got sick with the virus and showed symptoms. He walked under his own power into the helicopter, I saw it with own two eyes. The SMARTEST thing to do is get him the best PREVENTATIVE care in the world to minimize the effects of any symptoms he may experience. Its truly saddening, I don't speak about the majority. It's a small small minority and they are either to stubborn, hateful and callous to realize it!

I must have missed your posts where you criticized the Trumpists for predicting Joe Biden wouldn’t survive his first term, or wouldn’t even make it to election day.

This recent development is a matter of great national interest and importance. There is nothing whatsoever wrong with making observations and comments.

I hope the president recovers. Quickly and fully. I don’t wish that he dies and would condemn anyone who says so.

On the other hand, I have no sympathy for the fact that he contracted the virus. You might think those two things are inconsistent. They aren’t. He has for months acted cavalierly, with his own health and the health of his staff, family, supporters, and the secret service.

He holds events and rallies where people don’t wear masks and don’t social distance. The event at the White House last week where he announced Barrett’s nomination was appalling.

The other night, his family sat in the front row without masks. We now know one of them was infected.

He has criticized people for wearing masks, even Biden the other night. He has exhorted politicians to open up the country, abandon all prophylactic measures, etc. etc.

He has rolled the dice time and time again with his own health. Finally they came up snake eyes.

Saying someone might not survive four years because he’s old, versus HOPING someone might die are two entirely different mindsets.

Face it. Democrats attract some crazies and some evils. It’s always been that way and it’s only gotten worse. You’re affiliating with a party which is fundamentally at odds with America and good.

Don’t recall any poster saying today that they hope Trump dies. Maybe you could provide an example if you think there was one.

So if I were to say (I’m not) that Trump might not survive the coronavirus because he is old, obese, and likely has other underlying health conditions, you would be fine with that?

I wasn’t shouting. I highlighted the specific line in your post I took issue with.

You didn’t say masks. You didn’t need to. From many of your previous posts it’s a fair assumption that’s what you meant when you said you don’t expect others to protect you.

The bicycle was an analogy. If someone can have the decency to give a bicyclist some space to assure their safety, they ought to be able to wear a mask so that if they have the virus they don’t pass it to someone else.

And for RRR’s benefit, I don’t mean wear a mask when you’re by yourself in your car, or walking your dog distant from others.

Tom Tillis is also now reporting he is positive. That makes two members of the Senate Judiciary committee, both Rs, Tillis and Lee. I would guess 1 or 2 more will turn up as they were all at the Barrett dog and pony show last weekend. Becoming more clear this is where the outbreak started. Don't think dems were invited, lucky dems.

As are you.

Nope, I’m correct. I know a fair amount about Walter Reed. There is a section of the hospital devoted to him. No one would call it an office. As far as I know, no president has ever called it in office.

Can some of his staff occupy some of those areas and work from there? Sure. I can work from my dining room. That doesn’t make it an office.

But I’m done on this subject as you don’t seem to want to accept a position that doesn’t suit your narrative.

Please feel free to respond if you wish. I won’t.
As do I, work there on occasion.

I do agree, I doubt anyone would call a hospital stay their “office”, but the term provides a distinct value ‘to the people’ that business will continue.

... based on discussions, various I have heard today of the talking heads with White House security backgrounds, it wasn't enough. Some non-attributed White House insiders are claiming this was inevitable, they are surprised it hasn't happened before now. The rank and file White House workers are talking because they fear for their lives. Totally understandable. That's how this story got broken, an insider talking to Bloomberg reporter, essentially smoked the administration out.

These same insiders are claiming Trump currently has labored breathing, which at this point, early in the run of the disease is not good. Administration is naturally playing it down.
