I have to assume that what MD is saying here is Ilhan is not a communist. That would of course come as news to Ilhan, whose economic views are no different than Maduro's of Venezuela or Raul Castro's of Cuba.

It's always interesting to see MD come rapidly to the defense of those Democrats whose views are in essence as opposed to American success as can be conceived. Why is that?

Also, I think MD yesterday claimed here that any Republican would have beat HRC in 2016. That also would come as news to anyone with a brain, as it's inconceivable that any Republican not named Trump would have rolled over for HRC like the good Republicans of past. Democrats play to win; Republicans of yesterday played for respect, and got beaten like drums. Harris is marginally to the left of Biden, but both represent the moderate wing of that Party.
Biden controlled that wing's support, including the older black vote (quite moderate) so candidates like Kobuchar, Harris and Mayor Pete didn't get enough traction. The far left had two main candidates, Bernie and Warren, so they certainly weren't going to jump to support Harris over their preferred candidates.

So, the only takeaway I see is that the moderate wing is representing the Dems in this Presidential election, not the far left.
