Agree 1000%, as you know.cradleandshoot wrote: ↑Wed Jul 29, 2020 5:00 pmI hear ya, the conversation between you two was just not making sense to me. If we could balance our budget ( never gonna happen in my lifetime) then lower tax rates would make sense. There is a very fine line between taxes that are too high and taxes that are too low. You can't spend like our country has been doing and not pay for it.
The part Pete doesn't get is that if folks want this minimal government nonsense, I'm more than will to chuckle, and go along. Then I get to laugh at Pete as they shutter the University of Florida, together with all but a couple of hospitals in his State that cater to the very rich. And Pete will stand in front of shuttered buildings, at a loss as to why they're not open. He apparently thinks the money fall from the sky to run these institutions.
You and I share a vision of a balanced budget because we both know it will get America's priorities together.
Event the most liberal of libs will thing twice about programs if Uncle Sam is pulling 30% of their total income.
Same goes for the fake conservatives like Pete. He'll finally realize how much money it takes to keep the Hospital doors open for all of those retirees in Florida. Suddenly single payer might sound like a good idea, instead of this game where we pay more than any other country in the world for Health Care, while getting below par results.
We'll never get a balanced budget Amendment. But boy, it sure would be nice if we did.
