Seems to me that this is yet another one of the many, many reforms that will need to be undertaken after Trump is out of office. There should be a federal law requiring all federal, state, and local law-enforcement to be dressed in clearly identifiable law-enforcement gear, wear nametags, and identify themselves as law-enforcement.
For my money, if a cop is dressed in nondescript ninja-type apparel that doesn’t indicate he is with law-enforcement, he shouldn’t have qualified immunity. If some guy in dark clothing starts attacking me and I fight back, in what universe is it fair to charge me with assaulting a cop when I have no idea he is a cop?
I agree with you, somewhat. The problem lies with the Democratic Party whose silence is a tacit approval of throwing things at cops and worse. If the Portland yo-yo's successfully doxx the police, all bets off.
First things first, how about some major national Democrats coming out and decrying the violence and mayhem? How about them taking ownership of their band of jackbooted thugs marauding through Portland and Seattle every night? If the anarchy would end, there'd be no need for federal law enforcement. Nancy all but approved of the mayhem the other day by saying 'some people will do things' and not openly saying anything negative about Antifa, the paramilitary arm of the Democratic party.
