And this from the WH link above:
"Q Is there a chance that the limited testing means that the numbers are low and the public has been misled about how widespread this is?
DR. REDFIELD: Yeah, we have been diagnosing cases here from the beginning originally linked to travel, associated with very aggressive public health measures of contact tracing. So you might find one confirmed case and you might evaluate another 300 people. Right? And as you — we went out to do that. The only contacts, initially, from the beginning that we found were two spouses — spouses who came back from Wuhan. And all the other contacts were — were negative.
Over time, when the state of Washington sent a sample from an individual, they made the first diagnosis. That individual was also a traveler. But, clearly, as the — as they continued to diagnose more, we found people that had no risk of travel. And this is what we call “community spread.”
So we do have community spread. We are continuing to look. We are enhancing our surveillance. We’re blending surveillance for coronavirus into our flu surveillance system. But at this point, I think we have isolated a number of clusters. But it’s not as if we have multiple, multiple — hundreds and hundreds of clusters around the United States."
Guess where we are now...

Pfffft. He was obviously set up and trapped into lying by corrupt prosecutors and the Deep State. Hey----you know what I heard? I heard the FBI agents who were on this case were caught texting to each other about how they can't stand Harvard. So obviously, the Deep State is at work here.kramerica.inc wrote: ↑Sun Jul 12, 2020 4:25 pm For those following at home, Harvard Scientist Indicted on False Statement Charges:

This whole indictment should be thrown out, and Barr should step in and "fix it".
Right, fellas? Or is "this different", and the tin foil hat brigade "magically" trusts the FBI and DoJ again?

The back to school plan?
Get the kids in school;
Act like everything is fine, normal and good;
Blame local officials when a spreader event occurs.

Dr. Facui to the rescue, yet again,....dun-da-dahhhh? To save you the aggravation, you can fast forward to about the 2:10 mark "I feel very strongly that we need get the children back to school, I think we are in lock agreement about that" .seacoaster wrote: ↑Sun Jul 12, 2020 4:50 pm Distrust of science? In response to Rand Paul’s question, Fauci made a reference to his earlier response to the question which had come up earlier. Hopefully you were not being intentionally deceptive. Rather it was just ignorance:youthathletics wrote: ↑Sun Jul 12, 2020 5:15 pmDr. Facui to the rescue, yet again,....dun-da-dahhhh? People want kids back to school. Hopefully it can be done safely. 5 year old boy died yesterday from Coronavirus.

We will figure something out. It is important to get kids back to school but it won’t be an “at all cost” decision. That would be wreck-less. If the virus is under control in your community, good chance kids will be back in school. If virus is out of control in your community, good chance they won’t.

I am not sure I have heard anyone disagree with that. It you have a link of someone saying kids shouldn’t be allowed back at school if it’s safe, let me know. You think kids should go back to school on a hope and a prayer in communities where the virus is surging?youthathletics wrote: ↑Sun Jul 12, 2020 5:47 pmThanks for that clip....it reinforces the need to get children back to school; safely.Typical Lax Dad wrote: ↑Sun Jul 12, 2020 5:38 pmIn response to Rand Paul’s question, Fauci made a reference to his earlier response to the question which had come up earlier. It is coming...
US daily numbers via
@COVID19Tracking
:
Newly reported deaths
Today: 476
Yesterday: 757
One week ago (7/5): 209
Newly reported cases
T: 61K
Y: 63K
7/5: 43K
Newly reported tests
T: 729K
Y: 634K
7/5: 657K
Positive test rate
T: 8.4%
Y: 9.9%
7/5: 6.5%
While the number of deaths might seem comparatively low, Sundays are usually slow for reporting, and in fact this is the most deaths reported on a Sunday since 5/31. So, pretty bad news. With that said, we're still learning about the reporting patterns of the current hotspots. - Nate Silver
