The closest name the FEC database shows is a candidate called "Kanye Deez Nutz West", who filed their papers with the Green Party in 2015 under the address "1977 Golddigger Avenue, Suite Yeezus"kramerica.inc wrote: ↑Sun Jul 05, 2020 3:34 pm Kanye enters the race.

Only if JayZ is his VP, Kanye’s last album was trash but with JayZ they can create quality like Otis it’s worth considering.kramerica.inc wrote: ↑Sun Jul 05, 2020 3:34 pm Kanye enters the race.

I have never liked Kanye West as a rapper. He is a basic rhymer. Jay-Z was more inventive.Farfromgeneva wrote: ↑Sun Jul 05, 2020 4:07 pmOnly if JayZ is his VP, Kanye’s last album was trash but with JayZ they can create quality like Otis it’s worth considering.kramerica.inc wrote: ↑Sun Jul 05, 2020 3:34 pm Kanye enters the race.

Not even in the same stratosphere, but you talking to a guy who (depending on what you think Tupac is, orig from NYC but considered west coast) likes the NYC preachers (and the roots and Ice Cube)-Dead Prez, KRS One, JayZ, Ramon, early Nas, etc.
Kanye to me is more like a slightly more intense Nelly.
Kramerica, are you one of those people that refers to Hamilton as “rap”?

If you want real spitting could check out a 90s group called Blackalicious (though Harry Potters commendable attempt on late night made me sad...)

Blazing Arrow is a better song but this is fun

Thats very good. I didn’t know that guy but I don’t follow hip hop like I used to. I was a big Gangstarr guy.....Guru was so much better than Kanye it’s laughable.Farfromgeneva wrote: ↑Sun Jul 05, 2020 4:15 pm If you want real spitting could check out a 90s group called Blackalicious (though Harry Potters commendable attempt on late night made me sad...)

Indeed! I loved that. Everyone was good on it. Has there ever been three better rappers on one track? This is still timeless

We really need to create a thread for basically just us because I suspect everyone else in here is lost. DMac doesn’t believe any music should be played beyond all live Dead tapes (which I’d be into except dead space drives me batty) and figure MDlax is a classical guy and some jazz though Herbie Hancock got way too experimental. AFan only listens to stuff out at Red Rocks, etc.
(I’m just messing with a few of you, three people I thoroughly enjoy conversing with and reading and like all that music I referenced anyways, listen to everything but country after the early 80s and death metal)
But yes, though problem w Mobb Deep is Tupac killed them on Hit Em Up

See the wink but hope you know I was just having fun. Thinking you might like the smooth sounds of Steely Dan too! Dire straits maybe? (Love both, the latter is in my top 5-10 in music).

Re: 2020 Elections - Trump Fatigue Pandemic
We all know that most musicians have instructed o d to NOT use their catalog during his hate rallies.
When the George Harrison estate objected to the use of "Here Comes The Sun" to introduce Ivanka, they told the o d campaign they would consider allowing them to use another of George's songs: "Beware of Darkness"!
Maybe Sir Paul could authorize "Back in the U.S.S.R."?
