Hopefully the race track employee or race crew member who originally fashioned that knot, many months ago, will be identified.

Gotta ask you about this, salty.
Statues of Adolf and his band of merry men? Little swastika flags on the balcony tables at the Black Forest Esse und Getrank? I'm not so sure many Germans aren't so ahamed that they' care to see statues of the "heros" of a couple of those decades. You're not helping your cause with this analogy.
That said, a German soldier, particularly an infantry grunt, would speak proudly of his courage and accomplishments on the battlefield. Those soldiers lived through hell, as they say, and fought the Americans (and everyone else) valiantly. A certain amount of pride, and family pride, comes with that, wrong side or not.
Have said it before, I wouldn't trade going back to 25 from where I am now for all the titts in Tahiti. All I can say is, good luck with the future and the flag and national anthem. This aint your gramma's Uncle Sam.

Try to find preserved & refurbished examples of German WW-II weapons, military hardware, aircraft, vehicles, unit histories, battle descriptions, etc...Go to UK museums. You won't find any in Germany.DMac wrote: ↑Thu Jun 25, 2020 6:36 pmGotta ask you about this, salty.

Here’s the problem: Democrats don’t even care about the confederacy and what it stood for (they don’t understand history even if they wanted and they don’t).
Think about this: most of the rioters in DC tearing down statues burning churches and looting stores are federal employees! 100% Democrats. Who is the enemy of normal Americans again?
They only want to wreck America. There’s no common ground with those that hate America. A compromise with them is merely an invitation to demand more. Everything they want is facile and poisonous to America. They are the mob. The mob is the left. Hang an American flag on your front porch at your peril.

Show this image to 100 American's and 99 of them will call it a noose.Kismet wrote: ↑Thu Jun 25, 2020 1:32 pmold salt wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2020 7:14 pm The NASCAR noose was a garage door pull rope that had been in that garage since last OCT. ..

How many garage door pulls have you seen that look like this? A simple loop would have accomplished the purpose of raising the door - that's what 99% of the people in this country would have done to deal with the problem
IMHO they were correct to call the authorities - at that time they had no way of knowing how long it had been there and whether it was directed at them or not.

Not only is it a noose, but a noose is a slip knot, and a pull would be better served by a fixed loop, like a bowline.

Nahhh Old Salt sees a common loop. The real concern is this race war that he mentioned is underway.
https://apple.news/Ahp1DrRGXQvWkH6hmCJPpxA
“We certainly know the difference between a simple hand loop and a noose,” said a Nascar official. “There were several coils in what we found.
The conclusion that the rope was a noose—and unlike anything else at all of Nascar’s tracks—dispels the notion asserted by some that it was a simple garage pull that was somehow misunderstood by a Nascar crew member, Nascar crew chief, Nascar security team and Nascar president.
