On Wednesday, Palm Beach County held a public hearing. Its purpose: with the number of coronavirus cases spiking in Florida, the county commission wanted to hold a vote on mandating the use of masks in public (as Broward and Miami-Dade counties have). The vote came after a two-hour public hearing, during which angry opponents held up Trump signs, threatened the county board with citizens’ arrests, invoked the wrath of God, and held a festival of crazy.

It should be standard practice, that when hitting a thread, you go back a few pages to read prior posts. this is yesterdays news.

I will ask you. If you are voting to make face masks mandatory, shouldn't YOU, yourself, be wearing a face mask?
So sorry for not meeting your standards...
A general question, regarding governments telling it ruled class that they have to wear a mask, while, they, themselves, do not. Like your hero tRump Only, he hasn't made in mandatory, yet.

but not sorry for NOT answering a simple question, got it.
So sorry, but do you think that I am on the Palm Beach County commission that is voting on this matter? What gave you that impression?
general question about governments . It's tRump like hypocrisy.

Masks do two things: perpetuate fear and accustom the people to obedience. Masks simply prolong the agony of a virus. .

Humans are built to develop herd immunity which can’t develop rapidly if people shelter and mask up.

What a clown car the left has become. I’d rather they loot stores and break statues than control health policy.
The stupidity of this post is almost -- almost -- hard to believe.
Of course Peter Brown is a miscreant troll who we all wish would go away. He adds zero to our community and just drags it down the drain as he gets his weird jollies by spewing garbage at strangers.

However, Peter Brown retired the title of WOAT with the below. Still blows the mind that anyone anywhere could have ever actually written this in public:

“The preliminary autopsy was just released right now, and the results suggest that the deceased died of causes unrelated to the cop's knee.”

“You are wrong here. The cop did not torture the guy 'to death'. He died of other causes,”

I blocked him months ago, but unfortunately his sewage still leaks through via responses and interactions with other posters.

Could I ask that you all block him too and that you just stop feeding the troll? You've all been more than patient with him. But by now we know that he's just an incorrible polluter. Maybe if Trump gets hammered in November he'll finally go away. But until then, just block and ignore him.

Thanks, gg
Boycott stupid. If you ignore the gator troll, eventually he'll just go back under his bridge.

My biggest problem here at Fanlax isn’t censorship by the likes of ggait but rather I laugh too much when I’m typing.

What’s that Vonnegut line? Who is more to be pitied, a writer bound and gagged by policemen or one living in perfect freedom who has nothing more to say?

Looks like July 4th holiday is not going to be a good holiday for some. Gov of Texas is halting additional steps in reopening the state.

the biggest problem here......and really everywhere....is people making claims and REFUSING to back them up.

Like the ones touting the 69 page pandemic report that tRump crap canned....only, it wasn't true. None of it.

Defending the USELESS 69 page pandemic playbook, without ever reading it. nay.....REFUSING to read it........is a huge problem.

loving all the belly fat infotainment or your fear porn links. such trash.

where are the deaths? especially those in the PRIME of their lives.

Funny, an average of 2.2 million die, each year, on average, here in the USA.

aren't you happy it's killing, mostly, all those tRump voters in 2016?

Florida deaths no longer flat, now trending upward. Looks like they lagged about 2-3 weeks after we started to see the rise in positive cases. Sad to see.

On the other hand, the hospitals have capacity. The curve was flattened.
And ICUs at some places are being used as Covid-care, not necessarily ICU Covid care. Ventilator use is also not as prevalent, which is good.

Mostly because the infections are more concentrated in younger (and presumably more active) people than before. So they have a much better chance of not ending up in the ICU. But for a small fraction - there are some really serious long term complications that take months/years/never end for some.

Leana Wen, M.D. @DrLeanaWen

"Our best estimate right now is that for every case that's reported, there actually are 10 other infections," from
@CDCgov director Dr. Redfield.

Meaning there are actually 20 million+ #covid19 infections--and we are nowhere near testing capacity to rein in the virus.

No - I have been on the road travelling lately - so it either showed up in my Twitter feed, or I heard it on South Carolina public radio which I usually have on for long drives...
