To each their own. with this said, as a suggestion, i would not use the words "racist" and "jungle" in the same sentence. unintentionally, with no evil intent, or otherwise. Not because it will create some imagined hurt. because it will create a very real hurt for a large swath of people. even if you cannot see this.

Biden's the nominee, the Quote has been all over the news, AND there is a myriad of crazy, RACIAL tensions and protests.

By definition:

Jungle:
-A place of ruthless struggle for survival
-An impenetrable thicket or tangled mass of vegetation

IMO, that's double dip of relevance.

And a precedent has been set here when it comes to accurate but offensive thread titles:

We have had the Orange Duce title for 4 years. We were told how creative the thread title was because it was accurate by definition (both those in the dictionary and slang versions of "duce") despite it being offensive to some here...

Interesting you brought that thread name up, krame. I've always thought that Duce was a typo. I think Orange Deuce, as in #2, is equally if not more appropriate.

I just had to look up Springsteens lyrics for his song Jungleland. I just always interpreted them as typical Springsteen metaphors. You know why most people get offended on a daily basis? Because they don't do their reading. They read just a headline or thread title. They guess at intent and take things completely out of context.

Context and intent is key. You can't have freedom- whether it's freedom of speech or freedom of something else, without having someone be offended, somewhere. I'm a firm believer in what you said- "to each their own."

Perhaps we should try that for freedom of speech.

We've come far enough in this country that we have overcome some major societal obstacles. Now we can choose any gender we want. We can marry any human we want legally and (mostly) free from criticism. How much has society changed? Often those choices are celebrated nightly on TV.

I think that's awesome. We've made the progress to minding our own business in those fields.

Now all we need to do is learn how to mind our own business and let people say whatever they want...without people being so publicly offended. Could you imagine that?!
