kind of a weird byline. i'm sure there's an inference in there somewhere about intentions and discussions. but mostly it's tillman talking about the legwork ahead of the possibility, giving him the space prior to this spring for him to investigate football, and tillman specifically saying he hasn't gone over scenarios with bernhardt.

and bernhardt not quoted, though not terribly unusual.

Inside MD Sports reporting Michael O'Connell, point guard from Blairstown (N.J.) Blair Academy, decommitted and received out of his Letter of Intent with Maryland Lacrosse, instead opting to sign with Stanford Basketball. Not surprised by this lost.

It did seem like he was emphasizing basketball by going to Blair academy.

Sounds like a lot of outdoor strength training and maybe some Captains drills that can fit into these guidelines

Jack Koras will definitely be worth the price of admission. I watched a couple of his games during his junior year. Insane nose for the goal. Looking forward to see what he can do for the Terps. The Cannizzaro comparison is pretty accurate, maybe not as fast, but definitely as fearless. Great off ball too.

Tillman has been downplaying the incoming freshmen. He has been talking about how they didn't play this past spring and probably won't be ready to contribute. When I watch Koras's highlights it is hard not to feel that he will get on the field - even if it is just the 2nd midfield.

Yikes! That’s going to be an ambitious challenge going from 5’10” 166 to a Big Ten strong safety facing guys like Saquon Barkley and Jonathon Taylor types. It would certainly make him a great asset at midfield though.

lots of top guys are 170 to 185 in hs at the 2 db spots.
safeties typically a little taller and heavier.
he may grow another inch or 2. probably be 185-190 by his first game. or more if he grows. lots of f'ball guys redshirt.
no idea what kind of football player, but good chance the lax team won't see him much if he's on the field.

Someone on the 2020 Coaching Carousel thread is reporting that JL Reppert or Jesse Bernhardt is one of the final candidates for one of these HC VMI or Hampton Jobs. I would guess Reppert for VMI

Wouldn’t be surprised. Great fit, great coach, great recruiter and could actually have recruits stay the night without fear of the police showing up. (joke)

It'd be a big coup for VMI for sure, but man I don't get it from Reppert's POV. Its a D1 HC job, but it's....among the worst D1 HC jobs. That's just a dead end job. Maybe he's a bit tired of being passed up for other jobs but with 1 or 2 more big years I do think he'll get himself a really good job. I don't see that happening if he goes to VMI.

Welp; looks like this is gonna be a thing. If it does happen, some names with Maryland or Tillman connections who are OCs and have good reps: Mike Phipps, Mike Chanenchuk, John Haus, and Jake Bernhardt
