You’ll notice no Democrats here react to this post.
Which is a tell on their real lack of concern for the rights of individuals.
We need to know far more about who shot whom and why before it becomes particularly relevant.
That said, because it was in that area, folks are paying attention to it.
Was it some leftist shooting someone not fully woke?
Or was it a boogaloo type creating trouble?
Or just someone PO'd about someone making the moves on his woman?
Once we know more, it'll be worth discussion.
Until then, we'll just need to stay tuned.
Your hesitation to rush to conclusions is admirable. It’s interesting you don’t utilize that same skill when it comes to events which possible shed a harsh light on Republicans. Why just yesterday I thought you said Desantis had blood on his hands for beach something something. The day of the beach being open. And still, the scoreboard shows 32,900 deaths in New York, and ummmm, 3.200 in Florida. Would’ve been consistent for you to have hesitated then. But alas, Republican bad, Democrat good, right?
It's a truly cynical comparison between NY and Florida, but go ahead and live in your safe bubble PB.
You reveal yourself daily on these boards, MD. I'm only cynical about you, not Florida/NY. On Florida/NY, any normal person can see quite clearly what the deal is.
If anything, Florida should have been the #1 death-by-Covid capital in the world; we have the elderly (check), the poor (check), and the immigrant masses huddled in apartments and houses (check).
You should be loudly wondering why NY, NJ, IL, and Washington did so poorly, when in fact they don't come close to Florida's perfect storm of Covid exposure.
I sense both a pattern of yours as well as a pattern of who runs those states.

NY was hit early and hard, by the European strain, enormous community spread before the population understood and began to adapt, with or without government encouragement.
Florida was not hit early, thankfully.
and no, it's not remotely as dense, not by a long, long shot.
The criticism of each of these government officials, local, state, federal level is what did they know and when, and what did they do to encourage the population to reduce the spread?
None of them has a perfect score on this, including your pal.
Fingers crossed that the spread in Florida won't get out of control and force another total shutdown. I think Florida may be able to get through it because so much of the population, especially those most vulnerable, is taking the issue seriously, but I do worry for my many friends in the state and will be concerned about my mom when she returns in the fall (hopefully).
And we continue to be hopeful that the medical community will continue to learn how to manage the virus, more and more successfully.
My prediction is that this will be sorely tested in the fall.

I have a partisan lens. Have you read these boards? You treat DocB like a normal poster as he spittle-flails with the 'racist' canard every second here if you know, god forbid, you prefer vanilla ice cream
And again, your words are curious to more perceptive readers. One governor has 32,000 deaths on his hands and the other has 3,200, which is a factor of 10 to 1, even though their populations are identical and one (Florida) has far worse population statistics. But your take is 'none of them has a perfect score'. Seems like one (Cuomo) has a thoroughly atrocious score. Curious that your call now is to equate them.

The only people out to lunch are race-obsessed Democrats.
Most Americans are perfectly fine with the color of the person they deal with. It’s only the race obsessed Dems and total race hustlers like Al Sharpton who stoke the fires long since extinguished.
Here’s a heartwarming story by Kate Snow of a young boy who went to see his buddy the train conductor every day. One is white, one is black, which of course is irrelevant.
Not one Dem wants anyone to see a story like this because it diffuses the race narrative bomb. Even Kate can barely get viewers to watch. So I’ll help her by posting here and elsewhere.
You should watch it to understand where actual reality is in America and not internet board idiocy.

BLM donations made to their website by guilty/sympathetic white people are passing thru a front organization of the DNC. 178 million dollars to democrat candidates so far. Thats all this is—democrat fund raising. Watch how quickly it dies after the election.

Re: Racism in America- Week 4 of Unrest
i dont even see race. i think we are all the same; all equal. the human condition.
sure, our ancestors came from different places. for some, that was centuries ago. for others, recent. for some they themselves came from different places.
and those places are fluid. borders change; people move. it's a synthetic construct. heck take poland for example- it entirely shifted to the side.
and when you focus on the seams between such manmade concepts, you realize the absurdity of it all. grouping a people together based on a geographical division. or even pigmentation, surnames, dialects.
forget all that for a moment- we presumably all came from one part of the earth. when there were no borders other than natural. rendering borders meaningless (at some point, at least).
and even if that's wrong- all those lands were connected at some point anyway. sure hominids werent around at the time, but it again shines a light on the artificial boundaries.
not to mention- we here are mostly americans. and our founding charter says we are all equal.
if it were true that borders make people different- than how is it that people within a border can be so different. does the native amazonian have much in common with the coastal white portuguese brazilian? cross that border into peru and i bet the natives have more in common with amazonians than coastal brazilians.
and then you've got mixed ethnicity, emigration, and "self-identification". making this entire race thing an impossibility.
so i just don't see race. we are all the same- homo sapiens. and someone will disagree and say you don't get it. and that's fine.

"...no matter how many statues you put up, no matter how many times you play Dixie and wave the flag, you cannot cover the fact that the Southern cause advanced terrible, terrible crimes against humanity, a cause that perpetuated those crimes long after the war was lost and slavery supposedly ended.
In truth, the South never surrendered. It fought on with this astoundingly executed propaganda, an elaborate set of symbols that stood on nearly every courthouse lawn across the Confederacy, all designed to obscure centuries of wicked, murderous, rapacious crimes against humanity.
Yes, I have heard the apologists proclaim heritage, not hate. That’s only more delusion. The heritage is hate, no matter how much you try to sweeten it.
The more I have read and studied and researched the details of our history after the Civil War, the history you don’t learn in public or private school, the more nauseated I am by it all."

Bingo! Precisely why they refer to Third World people as "shtt hole" nations and accuse Mexicans of being rapists while supporting racial hate and separation:
It has been proven a hundred times that the surest way to the heart of any man, black or white, honest or dishonest, is through justice and fairness.
