MDlaxfan76 wrote: Sat Jun 20, 2020 6:29 pm Point made, idiots abound.

This Republican is not statistically immune, nor is my wife or sister or either brother in law, much less my mother or mother-in-law. Almost all Republicans.

Even my 26 year old son is not immune, nor my nieces and nephews. All Democrats. That said, their motivation to avoid contracting has been more for the benefit of their family than themselves, I realize an alien concept for some knuckleheads.

Thankfully, we've all been careful and avoided it, while in the meantime the medical responses have gotten much better. Every month that goes by this should improve further, meanwhile we're all (R's and D's alike) working (except the grandmas) with the exception of my basement dweller Trumpist who is nevertheless getting paid to stay in the basement by the NSA contractor. He's playing with his super computers, burning my electricity. ahh well.
Stats showing more promise: https://twitter.com/ethicalskeptic/stat ... 63137?s=21

Still haven’t seen a spike in cities/states that were protesting for the past 4 weeks. Things that make you go hmmmm.

I believe MD said we should know by now when we brought up this concern 4 weeks ago.
I said we'd see increasing cases 2-4 weeks after congregations of people without masks, especially if inside. Fortunately, over 80% of the protestors were wearing masks most of the time they were congregated...though not all were. And they were outside. So, the hope was that there'd be much less spread than if all those protesters weren't wearing masks. But nevertheless, serious concern.

Hospitalizations and Deaths are another matter, I said. These would be discernible later still as most of the protestors were young so far less likely to be the ones who would end up in the hospitable themselves, rather it would be the secondary and tertiary spread from them downstream. That's two cycles or more of infection, not one. And as this is an exponential function, it builds. That is, unless people are very careful to not spread it beyond themselves.

So, we're still a few weeks from when I predicted noticeable spikes related to the protestors (if there would be a lot...though the mask wearing looked like it would help).

But we're indeed seeing spikes in areas which had opened up without mask wearing, where too many people scoffed at the risks.

So, where we are indeed seeing spikes is in areas where large % of people are eschewing masks altogether.

The good news is that the medical folks are cutting deaths by 2/3 those who are hospitalized, so while it's brutal and has damage long term, a serious case is considerably less likely to result in immediate death now than 3 months ago...we'd expect this to continue to improve.

azithromycin in combo with hydroxychloroquine 100% cure rate in 6 days

Two readily available abundant drugs already in use and safe for humans.

Plus hydroxychloroquine is a preventative.

Oh were life so simple that the anti-Trump brigade was solely concerned about the virus and not about using yet another issue to fillet Trump 24/7, how lovely our conversations would be.

OIf liberal democrat governors hadn't enforced steps that killed 10's of thousands of seniors in nursing homes our numbers would be so much better.

But you kids stay in your homes for the foreseeable future quivering over a virus that adversely affects less than 1% of the population.

I don’t know if Democrats are sincerely but moronically scared about a virus which statistically can never kill them let alone sideline them for two weeks, or if they’re just so anti Trump they will do anything to hobble the economy.

I look at PB's posts as getting more and more desperate, insights to the Trumpist mindset.
Offensive, disgusting, sure, but he's generally careful to stay within the forum lines.
So, not 'banned', IMO.

I do question whether his purpose in the forum is to actually contribute to discussion, rather than merely to troll.

It's aged like milk in the few minutes it's been up.

Daily Hospitalizations have been trending upward since about 2 weeks after full opening.

Luckily deaths have remained flat as we continue to get better at fighting this thing. And there are plenty of beds for the sick for now.

Deaths are down, not flat. And hospitalization rates are lower than April. Other than those two critical misses, excellent analysis

It anyways begs the question: why do Dems hate Ron so much? Shouldn’t you hate Cuomo who actually does have blood on his hands and whose state will fail within two years?

PB, the mission of my business is to help millions of families make more meals at home, happier and healthier. We are provided free to employees and health plan members in order to enable them to improve their health, particularly related to obesity related chronic diseases, heart disease, diabetes, metabolic disorder, many cancers, etc. 85% of our members have someone in their household who wants to lose weight, 55% have a serious chronic health concern, 15% have 4 or more overlapping health concerns. 92% of members report eating healthier, of those wishing to lose weight, women report an avg of 14lbs after 6 months, 16 lbs after one year so sustained, men an avg of 25lbs after one year.

So, yeah, "concern" about such issues. And we opened up free access to join to the general consumer for 6 months during the lockdowns and have kept that open as of now.

But keep mocking 120,000 dead, PB, it's a real insight into the Trumpist mindset.

Hospitalizations and deaths being down is clearly the result of the medical professionals better understanding how to treat the disease and everyone understanding where the weak spots in the system are (retirement homes, etc.) and reacting appropriately. Peanut Butters doesn't have to worry, both will go back up as more and more take his cavalier (and pompous) attitude.

Another possibility is that the demo of folks being tested now is younger. Folks who are more out and about. So more likely to test positive and less likely to get seriously sick. Like all those Clemson football players.

TBD where hospitalizations and deaths will be in a couple weeks.

Smart business decision, move the product to a safe local.

After several Major League Baseball teams reported positive coronavirus tests for players and staff members, the Yankees and Mets decided to move their preseason training from Florida, where cases have been spiking, to their home stadiums in New York, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo said this weekend.

The announcement came soon after M.L.B. temporarily closed all of its spring training facilities, which are in Florida and Arizona, for deep cleanings and asked people to be tested for the virus before returning.

Five teams — the Philadelphia Phillies, Los Angeles Angels, San Francisco Giants, Toronto Blue Jays and Houston Astros — have confirmed that players, other employees or people connected to them have tested positive or exhibited symptoms of Covid-19.

I agree with you MD. The answer is as simple as why a 5 year old wont eat broccoli. They dont like it and 5 year olds, like most adults, dont like being told what they have to do. That fact it is good for you does not impress anyone. My mom told me that spoonful of cod liver oil was good for me. IMO, sorry mom, nothing that tastes that vile can possibly be good for you.

What I don't understand is why it's such a difficult concept for people to comprehend that wearing masks and being careful actually enables back to work and play with less spread, so wear the darn masks!

Idiots?
I agree with you MD. The answer is as simple as why a 5 year old wont eat broccoli. They dont like it and 5 year olds, like most adults, dont like being told what they have to do. That fact it is good for you does not impress anyone. My mom told me that spoonful of cod liver oil was good for me. IMO, sorry mom, nothing that tastes that vile can possibly be good for you.
Yeah, but this is way more about taking care of others than it is about oneself...that's what I think has many stuck...they simply don't care about anyone beyond themselves. And their 'leaders' aren't calling them to their better angels...

Of course, that's a natural, albeit selfish, reaction, but is exactly why we have rules and regulations and laws to actually encourage/make us do what we don't want to do...and we have elections of representatives so that those rules and regs and laws actually reflect the community will...problem is that we have some 'leaders' who think only about their personal self-interest, have zero care and empathy about others.

That's always true of some officials, but rarely as true as it is today in the Oval Office.

So this thing as become a partisan football, rather than just good policy. And we're all paying for that.

Again I agree with you. The problem is once you start telling people what they have to do instead of what they should do... that is when the pushback starts. Human nature is what it is. The vast majority of people dont like being told what to do. That is even when they know it us the right thing to do.
We don't make mistakes, we have happy accidents.
