Amplo has almost completed the Navy 2021 schedule and revealed to The Capital that Duke, Georgetown, Richmond and Johns Hopkins are locked in as non-conference opponents. He is still in discussions with Maryland head coach John Tillman to maintain that rivalry game. This season marked the first time since 1945 the Midshipmen and Terrapins did not play.

Makes sense. 5 weeks of fallball to concentrate on fundamentals. Save all play dates for spring. Can't count on fall travel yet anyway.youthathletics wrote: ↑Tue Apr 28, 2020 11:41 amThanks...from the article:jrn19 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 28, 2020 11:35 amArticle said JHU was; Amplo was still talking with Tillman on Marylandold salt wrote: ↑Tue Apr 28, 2020 11:30 amAre JHU & MD still on the sched ?youthathletics wrote: ↑Tue Apr 28, 2020 11:21 amAlso following the Duke model and reserving your 17 contests for Spring.FlyEaglesFly wrote: ↑Tue Apr 28, 2020 11:07 am Added games vs Duke and Georgetown. Duke did that a while back.
Great sched.

Fond memories from an abbreviated season for Navy's graduating Firsties :
It was the most fun I've ever had.

Indeed. For such a small class, they provided and left a lasting impact

Insightful interview. Yet another example since his welcomed arrival at USNA in June 2019, of Coach Amplo walking the walk of Navy Lacrosse. Special kudos for the Class of 2020 indeed - well said Coach.

I see Furman is officially shutting down lacrosse and baseball. I suspect Coach Meade will hang up the stick? Man ole' man time flies.

I was thinking about listing the Furman position as open and see how one individual would respond.youthathletics wrote: ↑Mon May 18, 2020 8:12 pm I see Furman is officially shutting down lacrosse and baseball. I suspect Coach Meade will hang up the stick? Man ole' man time flies.

Agreed. His associate coach Athens would also be great get for any program. Slightly off topic but I see the Navy Notre Dame football game will be played at Annapolis for the first time. Canceling the trip to Ireland.

Just posted this in the Furman thread. Any intel from the Navy faithful ?
old salt wrote: ↑Sat Jun 13, 2020 5:57 pm Anyone have insights into what Richie Meade's plans might be?
Does he still have a daughter in HS in Greenville & another daughter still at Furman ?
Does his contract preclude him for coaching elsewhere without a buyout ?
Would love to hear him in the broadcast booth for PL games on CBSSN, PLN webcasts of Navy home games, & WNAV radio call of Navy away games. Pete & Joe are great together, but Richie'd be a great color guy for either's play by play. With all the other Navy sports to broadcast, they need a lax wingman. After Furman's return to NMCMS, it's time to end Richie's exile. Does SW fly direct between Greenville & BWI ?
